The Haunted House Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge is a restaurant set in an old country inn that is rumored to be haunted. Although it sounds like an odd place to propose, it is one of the most romantic settings in Oklahoma City. If you have decided to propose over a meal, the Haunted House Restaurant is the place to choose. Meals here can be quite pricy compared to other places within the city, but it has some of the best food and atmosphere. Most people give it a very high rating, and because this is coming from actual restaurant patrons, you can be sure that the rating means something. It is well-known throughout the city as the place to spend a romantic evening. The Haunted House Restaurant can be found at 7101 Miramar Boulevard in Oklahoma City, but you must first reserve a table by calling (405)478-1417.
The Myriad Gardens are a beautiful place to propose. With the downtown Oklahoma City area being revitalized, there are many attractive locations, but one of the first was the Myriad Gardens. The Crystal Bridge is breathtaking, but is currently closed for renovations. If you are merely making preliminary plans to pop the question, the Crystal Bridge will be open by mid-April 2007. For those looking to propose before then, the outdoor grounds are open to the public and free, and certainly a lovely spot for a memorable proposal. The Myriad Gardens can be located at 301 West Reno in Oklahoma City.
The Bricktown Canal is a great spot for a proposal. Not only are you by a beautiful canal, but they also have secluded spots that are perfect for proposing. This is considered one of the most romantic spots in Oklahoma City, and many people have their wedding photography shot there. It is not unusual to see a bride and groom kissing near the canal, or a couple walking hand in hand along Bricktown. If you feel so inclined, water taxis are available for private charter, at a fairly reasonable rate. You must contact them ahead of time to reserve one for private use. The number to call for a water taxi is (405)234-8294. For all other proposals along the canal, the area is public, does not require reservations, and does not cost.
No matter which location you choose, make sure it is special to both of you. This is a place that you will remember for a long time to come, and you want it to be special to both of you. These locations are all romantic, but only you can decide if it is a good fit for you and your loved one. Finally, after you make all the arrangements, relax. Be confident in yourself and your relationship, and the fact that you have planned a wonderful evening in a romantic location. The setting is perfect, the other details have been planned, and now it's time to begin the rest of your life together as a married couple.
