When you've decided to propose to the person you have fallen in love with, you want every single detail to be perfect. You will plan every word you want to say, every motion you will make, and everything about the setting. But before you can begin your perfect proposal, you need the perfect location. There are several romantic spots in the Omaha area to propose. All you have to do is know the right areas. Here are the top picks for the best place to propose in Omaha.

A ride through the Old Market on a horse-drawn carriage is one of the most romantic places you can propose. As the horses pull you throughout the brick-drawn streets, you will be able to take her hand and make your perfect marriage proposal. The horses are available most of the day and evening, and you typically will not have to wait long to find one that can take you on a romantic ride. The horse drawn carriages are typically found throughout the Old Market, and you should look near Homer's Music shop for the horses if you wish to take a ride.

The Henry Doorly Zoo is a beautiful location to propose. While there are many spots that are perfect for a marriage proposal, there are a few that really stand out. There is an herb garden near the fish pond. This area has beautiful flowers and is one of the more secluded areas of the zoo. The aquarium is also nice. You can propose "under the sea" in the middle of the tunnel. One of the most beautiful spots is the rainforest. With all the tropical plants and animals, the setting is certainly romantic and tropical. If you are planning on an early morning proposal, the rainforest area is virtually empty, and some of the animals such as the marmosets and various birds may be out to play as you drop to one knee. One place to avoid is the fish pond. With the wood planks and the fish snapping at anything that falls from the bridge, it would be a disaster to accidently drop the ring. While it is not likely that you would, this is a nervous time, and it's best to not take the risk. Also, if the timing is bad because the animals are being fed or cleaned, don't be afraid to adapt your schedule to accommodate this minor setback. While the zoo is a romantic place to become engaged, no girl wants to hear a marriage proposal while she is watching the zoo keepers clean the penguin tank.

The Heartland of America Park is a 31 acre park in downtown Omaha. There is a beautiful lake where you can take an inexpensive boat tour of the lake, or you can stand on the shores and enjoy watching the two computerized fountains that shoot water 300 feet into the air. At night, these fountains put on bright light displays. If you are not planning on a Valentine's Day proposal, but want to wait for later in the year, there are bands that play throughout June, July, and August. There is a bridge for pedestrians, and there are gondola rides available on the lake. Imagine her eyes when you offer a marriage proposal on a gondola. Be aware that the fountains, and possibly the boats, do not operate until later in the season due to the cold weather. But it is still a stunning spot where you can become engaged.

These locations are some of the most romantic locations in Omaha. If you want a good location for your perfect proposal, these are great places to check out. Although some of the details may be forgotten with time, the location will always be remembered by your sweetheart. After all, that's where they chose to spend the rest of their life with you.
