Best Spots to Propose in Washington, DC

Personally, I love the concept of being the romantic. With Valentines Day approaching, I think back to the best places to propose. I can think of 5 off hand that are ideal. Most have something to do with just being creative. As a whole the creativity of the proposal means a world of difference.

5) Best Spots to Propose in DC at a Wizards Game: Ideally you want to be in the lower section of the stands. If you are going to go out and buy a nice ring, you might as well go all out and get some good seats. To say the least, you want to contact the venues management staff. I've seen this done a few time and every time the woman is surprised. You can have the teleprompter on the big picture screen at MCI center covered with your message. You can propose then have the follow-up picture focused on you & your soon-to-be fiancé. However, I have also seen someone turned down on the big television. When the woman said no to the proposal, everyone in the audience gave a big "OOOOOOO" So while this is one of the best Spots to Propose, it is also one you should only do if you know the woman will say yes.

4) Best Spots to Propose in DC on the Mall: Personally I like proposing at the Lincoln memorial. You consider history and it will show a level of reverence for your choice to make history with this loved one. Building a foundation is essential and you can not pick a better location to start building the grand foundation. To do it at the top of the steps overlooking the mall and history there to gives a sense of awe. Whenever the woman or you see a 5 dollar bill or a penny you will be reminded of the proposal. Not o mention, you will have a wonderful story to tell everyone about where you proposed.

3) Best Spots to Propose in DC at Georgia Brown Restaurant: Parking would not be a challenge if you take the metro. But if you do not take the metro be prepared to search for parking unless you valet. In sided however, you will get and exceptional southern meal with elegance and style. This is a favorite place for some power brokers and politicians. When you propose, be sure to tell the staff and they will take care of you with a special treat.

2) Best Spots to Propose in DC on the Daytime Odyssey Brunch: Many that know me know that I have been on the Odyssey quite a few times over the years. Some would say my family goes there about once every month. We do not go there quite that frequently but we have been there quite a few times. It is a wonderful brunch that you can take your loved one. With the flat boat you will have a smooth ride and plenty of room to find just the right spot to propose. Personally I like the concept of proposing on front deck as the cruise goes down the Potomac.

1) Best Spots to Propose in DC on the Spirit of Washington at night: While I like the Odyssey Brunch during the day. I had the best blast on the Spirit of Washington during the night. The Spirit of Washington also has a First Class treatment if you want to spend the few extra dollars. I feel making the first class purchase is worth it for all the free drinks and ability to board first. Spirit of Washington's cruise is the closest thing to a real cruise that I've seen in DC. If you want to charter a boat those are also available, but that will cost a great deal more to get done. The Spirits first class treatment and multi level decks provided plenty of choices on Proposal location. Be sure that a night proposal is one that will be romantic and appreciated for years to come. I personally proposed on a Royal Caribbean Cruise but that two is another whole story.

Great suggestions! I've been to DC a couple times and can say that any "touristy" place would be memorable.
