Best Spots for a Romantic Dinner in Hagerstown, MD
Neighborhood: Hagerstown

My husband and I love to eat out in nice restaurants and whenever we are feeling a little romantic, we like to dine at Fireside Restaurant and Lounge at the Plaza Hotel in Hagerstown, MD. The Fireside Restaurant and Lounge serves American cuisine that is moderately priced. They have fabulous crab cakes and prime rib, and other top of the line meals you can purchase. What makes the Fireside Restaurant and Lounge so romantic is the fireplace in the center of the restaurant. When my husband and I first started dating, he had made reservations for us to eat at the Fireside Restaurant and he had requested a table by the fireplace. For the past 12 1/2 years, whenever we go to the Fireside Restaurant and Lounge, we request a table by the fireplace.

The Fireside Restaurant has a nice upscale appearance and feel, but you don't have to dress your best to eat there or to feel like you fit in. The dress is casual and the staff is very friendly. My husband and I usually can both eat there for around $50.00 with the tip included.

The Fireside Restaurant and Lounge has a pretty nice salad bar, too. I love a nice salad bar, but a lot of restaurants you will find their salad bars are not kept as fresh as they should be. At the Fireside Restaurant, their salad bar is always fresh.

If you are in the party mood, you can go to the other side of the Fireside Restaurant and drink at the lounge. If you are planning a banquet, the Fireside Restaurant can accommodate you there as well. If your party is just a small group of 10, or a large group of 100, the Fireside Restaurant can fix you right up! The Fireside Restaurant and Lounge is located off of Interstate 81 at 1716 Underpass Way, Hagerstown, MD 21740. You can reach them by phone for reservations at 301-733-4800.

Their dinner menu includes scrumptious items such as a Broiled Seafood Platter, Twin Crab Cake Platter, Stuffed Flounder, Prime Rib, Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail. For lunch, you can choose from several appetizing items such as the Fireside Club, Grilled Reuben, Salad Bar, or a hamburger. If you like to eat out for breakfast, the Fireside Restaurant serves eggs, Belgian waffles, French toast, pancakes, sausage, ham, and omelets.

The Fireside Restaurant and Lounge serves breakfast Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m; Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Lunch is served Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. You can dine out for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

If you are looking for something romantic, but want a little more than dinner, you have to go to the Washington County Playhouse, located at 44 North Potomac Street in Hagerstown, MD. The Washington County Playhouse is a dinner theater with year-round shows that change approximately every two months. Your meal is an all you can eat buffet and the food is good. It is rather romantic, as the theater and dinner area is dimly lit while you enjoy your meal. The productions they Playhouse presents are rather good as well. The dancing, singing and scene changes are just amazing to me. The theater is completely dark during the scene changes, yet the actors and actresses manage to get everything changed in a matter of seconds without any problems.

My husband and I have seen many shows there including Ain't Misbehavin', Annie, Grease, West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, and the King and I. For around $60.00, you and your loved one can enjoy a romantic evening at the Washington County Playhouse. You need to make reservations though, as they are always sold out. You can call for reservations at 301-739-7469. If a dinner theater is something you could really get into, the Washington County Playhouse sells season tickets for their six yearly performances. Group rates are also available.

The Washington County Playhouse is open only on Friday and Saturday nights for a 6:00 p.m. dinner and show, and Sundays at 1:00 p.m.

For Valentine's Day, you have to take your special someone to Nick's Airport Inn, located at Pennsylvania Avenue, off of Route 11, in Hagerstown, MD 21742. You can call for reservations at 301-733-8560. Nick's Airport Inn has been a successful and growing upscale restaurant since 1961. Owner, Nick Giannaris, and his wife, Tina, have the secret to success in their very popular restaurant. They offer high quality food and excellent customer service.

Nick's Airport Inn serves only the finest choice meats, delectable seafoods, fresh vegetables, homemade breads and scrumptious desserts. Nick's Airport Inn dinner entrees range in price anywhere from $12.00 - $41.00. Nick's Airport Inn also has a nice, upscale lunch menu that ranges in price from $6.00 to $14.00 and includes fine menu items such as Jumbo Lump Crab Melt, Grilled Herb Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Pork Loin and Crab Imperial.

Nick's Airport Inn only serves the finest wines and they offer their patrons wine tastings from various regions worldwide.

Nick's Airport Inn serves lunch Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Dinner is served Monday through Thursday night from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. On Friday and Saturday night, you can dine at Nick's from 5:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

These are just a few of the fabulous, romantic restaurants you will find near Hagerstown, MD. I have been fortunate to dine at all three of these restaurants and I have always been impressed with the service, quality and prices. Taking that special someone to one of these fine restaurants will make your loved one feel extra special on Valentine's Day.
