Best Spots for a Romantic Dinner in Kansas City
Neighborhood: Northwest Kansas City

United States of America
Although there are many places to dine in the Kansas City metro area, finding a romantic restaurant may be more difficult. You want the food to be excellent, the atmosphere to be superb, and the service to be attentive. You also may choose to eat at a restaurant that costs more than you would normally spend on a meal. Because of this, you may be left clueless when it comes to picking a fine restaurant that is outside of the type of places you normally eat. These suggestions will help you find a romantic restaurant that enables you to spend time with that special person in your life.

Pitch Weekly recently voted The Raphael Restaurant the city's "most romantic". For a city with so many culinary choices, this is quite an honor. But perhaps even more of an honor comes from its regular patrons. Ask people where the most romantic restaurant in Kansas City is, and most will respond that it is The Raphael Restaurant. Decorated in dark woods and a classic decor, and located within the Raphael Hotel, this location knows romance. They boast that their multiple levels provide an atmosphere "so private you can almost hear your wine breathe." Chef Peter Hahn changes the menu weekly to provide the best dishes possible with the freshest foods available. One special feature they offer is a Cultural Dinner Experience, where the chef prepares and introduces patrons to the various cultural dishes. This can be an exciting, yet romantic way to spend an evening. Also, if you are just meeting for drinks, this is a fantastic place to do so, because the quiet, beautiful atmosphere of the restaurant has been carried over into the bar area. The Raphael Restaurant is located within the Raphael Hotel at 325 Ward Parkway in Kansas City, Missouri, and their phone number is (816)756-3800.

Skies is a restaurant in the Hyatt Regency that gets its name from its location. Skies sits atop the hotel, and is the only revolving restaurant in the Kansas City area. Because the entire restaurant turns, every seat in the restaurant has a perfect view of the entire Kansas City skyline. It has won awards for Kansas City's best view, and also as most romantic. It seems to be a tradition for couples in love to dine at a revolving restaurant, probably because the view is spectacular, and they already feel like they are walking on air. Skies specializes in steaks and seafood, which are grilled over applewood chips. Their desserts are also well-known for being truly delicious. Skies is located in the Hyatt Regency Crown Center at 2345 McGee Street in Kansas City, Missouri, and you can schedule a reservation by calling (816)435-4199.

Pierpont's is named for the famed railroad mogul, J.P. Morgan. The restaurant borrows from his history, and decorates its restaurant with styling from the early 1900's. There is plenty of dark wood paneling, and the bar is so tall that it requires a rolling library staircase. The offer a prix fixe menu, or a la carte. Although it is a little louder than other spots, everyone who visits agrees that they are quite a romantic spot. They are located at 30 West Pershing Road in Kansas City, Missouri, and their phone number is (816)221-5111. Reservations are recommended.

All of these restaurant suggestions can help set the mood for a nice Valentine's Day dinner, an anniversary, or a romantic evening alone. It is sometimes difficult to put aside work or family stresses and focus on your relationship. That's why it's so important to enjoy an evening away from these stressful things. Let these suggestions guide you to having a beautiful evening together where you can reconnect as a couple.
