Spring flower coloring pages: For those who live in the snow-covered North, nothing says spring like the return of flowers. If the flowers haven't blossomed outside yet, have the kids make some colorful flower artwork to brighten the indoors!
My favorite spring flower coloring pages are from the American Daffodil Society. You guessed it- my favorite spring flower is the daffodil! But who knew that there were 13 divisions of daffodils? To print out a free coloring page of all 13, visit their website. The American Daffodil Society also has individual free printable coloring pages of each daffodil.
All About Coloring also has spring flower coloring pages. These are all pretty simple outlines, so they're good for the little kids. You can find an apple blossom, black-eyed Susan, blue bonnet, poppy, carnation, spring bouquet, and more.
Activity Village also has free printable coloring pages of flowers in a simple outline style. Check out the pansies, crocus, lily-of-the-valley, violets, primroses, and tulips from them.
Spring weather coloring pages: As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers, so who doesn't think of rain when they think of spring weather? All About Coloring has coloring pages of a smiley-face raindrop and an umbrella being rained on. But let's not forget about the windy spring days! All About Coloring has a simple cloud, and a cloud who has a face with puffy cheeks and is blowing. For brighter days, they have a kite and a sun wearing sunglasses. These are all simple enough for preschoolers.
Spring birds coloring pages: Folklore has it the the first sign of spring is the robin, but a lot of other birds reappear at spring, too. All About Coloring has coloring pages of cartoon birds and realistic birds. The cartoon style coloring pages include a flying bird, smiling bird, chicks in a nest, and a bird on the perch of a birdhouse. The coloring pages of realistic looking birds include a blue jay, cardinal, finch, robin, and more.
Spring scenes coloring pages: These coloring pages are little more complex than the others, so they would work best for older kids. Kaboose has some really cute stuff- a mom and daughter gardening, a dad and son flying a kite, busy bee with tulips, boy with kite, bunnies with flowers, early bird gets the worm (which is a mama bird feeding worms to her babies in the nest), and stained glass flowers. They are all free to print.
The spring scene coloring pages from Activity Village are much more complex. For example, they have a detailed coloring page of a planter box with a variety of flowers growing out of it next to a decorated watering can and a spade, an adult and child walking with an umbrella through the rain near a bridge, and a mama bear wearing a dress and her baby bear on a hillside watering flowers with a sprinkling can. Good stuff for older kids, especially if you encourage them to write a short story about the scene.
Crayola.com has a great spring coloring page selection. "Garden Critters" has a butterflies, a snail, and a lady bug all on one page, "Spring Things" has a bird, an egg, a cloud, two bunnies, mushrooms, and a butterfly net on one page, and "Springtime Friends" is a smiling sun shining down on bunnies at play. These three coloring pages are easy enough for preschoolers. For older kids "Springs Starts" has the words "Springs Starts" to color in the foreground and a tulip and sun in the background.
Remind your kids about the glory of nature this spring with coloring pages that include birds, flowers, and raindrops!
