Best Stain Remover for Carpets, Clothing, and More!

Jennifer Wagner

No matter who you are, stains are an unavoidable part of life. Children stain clothes with food and outside play, and adults spill wine on carpets and bring in dirt and grime from outdoors. Knowing which stain removers work best is essential for any adult, as it helps save money on new clothing, carpets, bedding, and more. We've listed our recommendation for the most effective stain remover for carpets, clothing, and more.

OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover

OxiClean is, hands down, the absolute best stain remover on the market. It's easy to use, affordable, and extremely versatile. When purchased in powder form, it can be diluted to a consistency that will work on virtually anything. OxiClean Stain Remover works on carpets, upholstery, furniture, flooring, and in the laundry. OxiClean Stain Remover will remove stains caused by blood, rust, chocolate, grease, grass, and so much more.

To use OxiClean Stain Remover in the laundry, just add a scoop of powder with your regular detergent. Clothes look brighter after one wash! For carpet stains, all you have to do to is combine water and powdered OxiClean to form a paste and work it in to the stain. Be sure to blot away any moisture beforehand!

Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover

Spot Shot is the only stain remover I buy for carpets. After trying it just once, I've been a loyal user of the product. Quite honestly, nothing else compares to its effectiveness and ease of use. The name of this product says it all; it really is a stain remover that works instantly. When you find a stain, blot up the excess with a paper towel and then spray Spot Shot directly on the stain. You will be able to see the stain begin to disappear right before your eyes.

This product is easy to spot in stores because it's the only one with a bright orange cap. You'll find it where other carpet cleaner products are located, and it's sold for about the same price. It works on new and old stains, although you may need to apply two applications for extremely stubborn carpet stains.

Procter & Gamble Magic Eraser

The name of this product, Magic Eraser, is absolutely spot-on. This little sponge works just like magic! Whereas you would normally have to apply a lot of elbow grease to scrub stains off the walls, you can just wipe them away with the Magic Eraser. It is one of the best stain removers you can buy for hard surfaces. It works on counter tops, walls, flooring, furniture, and so on. It's easy to use too; just moisten the sponge and rub off the stain. There's very little elbow grease needed to remove even difficult stains, such as ink or crayon. If you have kids, this is the one stain remover you need to have in your home.

Tide To Go Pen Instant Stain Remover

To remove stains on the go, the Tide To Go Pen is a must. It's shaped much like a pen and is slender enough to fit inside your purse, backpack, diaper bag, etc. It's there when you need it and out of the way when you don't. To use, simply apply it directly to the stain. It will remove food, beverages, grass, and blood stains in a snap. This is a must-have product for parents with young children or children that play sports, as it starts to break-up the stain as soon as it happens.

Remember, the trick to proper stain removal is to act fast. The moment you see the stain, treat it with a quality stain remover. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to remove stains.
