Jones Beach State Park: This is the nucleus of all the parks in Long Island and is world renown. Located along the Atlantic Ocean, it has six and half miles of white sand beach with attractive boardwalk, humongous concert facility that seats over 15,000 people, and surf bathing location. Swimming pools, still-water bathing, and all the water related fun is plenty here. This is home to the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center that has environmental showcasing on the seashore and educational programs for all. Miniature golf, beach volleyball, and deck games are more of the fun activities you can enjoy here. Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park: This park's 400 acres of rolling lawns, formal gardens, woodlands, and 65 rooms Tudor style Gold Coast mansion attracts countless tourists from across the Atlantic and the Pacific for nature walks. Its grand mansion allows visitors a time travel back to the era of magnificent beauty and grandeur. This is a former estate of the W.R Coe family who avails it to guided tours where guests get a taste of the formal lifestyle of the 1920s, with its elegant collection of decorative arts, furnishings, paintings, and all the ornamental glittering of the age. Extensive collection of flowers such as orchids, hibiscus, and succulents are housed at the Main Greenhouse while the Camellia greenhouse boasts the regions largest assortment of camellia.
