Best Stocking Stuffer Christmas Gifts for Teens

Tracy DeLuca
Buying any Christmas presents for a teenager can be tough. Either they don't want what you get them or you cannot afford what they want. However, with a little bit of thought, your teens stocking can be stuffed with items that they will both love and use. The trick is to remember that a stocking should be used to gift small, personal items. Not high dollar items, but things that your teen can use every day and will need throughout the year. Here, I have a list of some items that would make great stocking stuffers for any teenager.

Food Items - Chocolate, oranges, nuts, beef jerky, sunflower seeds, lifesavers or any snack food is always welcomed by teenagers. Their favorite snack foods or unique ones that you think they might like would be great. My daughter always gets a chocolate orange, a summer sausage and some nuts or seeds in her stocking.

Toiletry Items - Deodorant, perfume or cologne, hair styling products, brushes, tweezers, razors, lotions and many other toiletry items make wonderful stocking stuffers for teens. Sample sizes are great but so are full size items! If your teen has a specific brand that they use, make sure to purchase that kind. You can get great deals on toiletry items throughout the year and save some money, too!

Teen "Toys" - Items like Rubik's Cubes or magic tricks, a deck of cards or a mind bender puzzle are great stocking stuffers. You can also pick up things like key chains or funky pens. Any really funky item like pins or patches from their favorite store at the mall would be a great addition to a stocking.

Small Clothing Items - Items such as new gloves, hats or scarves are good stocking stuffers. Also, a t-shirt with their favorite band on it or a cool saying would be good. Anything that can be rolled up or folded into a compact size.

Gift Cards for Fast Food - A gift card or certificate for a local fast food restaurant or coffee shop is a must for a teenager's stocking. Even $5 gives them the chance to go buy their own snack or meal with friends and not have to ask for money from Mom and Dad.

Small Hobby Items - If your teen enjoys drawing, you could buy them a new set of colored pencils or an art gum eraser. If they like crafts, a craft set or a hot glue gun. If they love to tinker with their car, a tire pressure gauge or other small tool for the car. Pay attention to your teenager's hobbies or what they collect and find small items to tie into their interests.

Remember, whatever you buy for stocking stuffers this Christmas for your teen, make sure it is something that reflects their needs and interests. Do not spend too much money but spend plenty of time planning it! Opening their stocking should be something that everyone looks forward to every Christmas!

These are some really good ideas. I have a 14 year old that's impossible to buy for sometimes but your stocking stuffer ideas really helped me. Thanks for the article!
