Best Stocking Stuffers for Retail Workers

Rachelle Dawson
Many times, families use small, inexpensive items as stocking stuffers. For a family member who works in retail, you can prepare a stocking full of helpful gifts that address some of the common challenges of retail work. Stuff the stocking with items such as hand cream, gel insoles, watch batteries, coupons for foot massage, restaurant certificates, and pocket calendars.

Dry Hands for Retail Workers

Constant handling of paper bags and cardboard boxes covers hands with small scratches and dries the skin. Sometimes regular lotion doesn't provide the needed relief. Delight your favorite retail worker with a tube of intensive hand cream to keep those hands moist and soft for life outside of work.

Throbbing Feet for Retail Workers

Most retail workers stay on their feet the whole time they work. Dress codes may even prohibit tennis shoes. Treat your loved one with gel insoles as stocking stuffers. You may find them at shoe stores, drug stores, or department stores such as Wal-Mart or Target. One pair of gel insoles may cover a range of sizes. If the insoles are too big, they can be cut with scissors down to size. Check the instructions on the back of the package to make sure you've selected the correct item.

Time Oblivion for Retail Workers

Retail workers commonly work in shifts, rather than open to close. Being aware of the time is important because they need to leave for break and come back to work at the correct times, and they certainly want to leave work at the right time. If your loved one wears a watch to work, you might consider buying watch batteries for the next time the watch goes dead.

Tired Feet for Retail Workers

Nothing's better for tired feet than a good massage from someone who cares. Include foot massages as stocking stuffers. Make up some coupons for foot massages for your loved one. Allow your retail worker to redeem the coupons after long days at work.

Quick Meals for Retail Workers

Restaurant certificates make excellent stocking stuffers for retail workers who like to eat lunch at a food court or grab a quick dinner for the family on the way home from work. Sometimes the varied schedule of a retail worker can make dinner planning hard.

Time Management for Retail Workers

Retail workers don't typically work the same schedule each week. Planning events and meshing work with the rest of life can often provide a real challenge to the unorganized retail worker. If your loved writes work schedules on scraps of paper and loses them, or misses appointments or other functions, you might find pocket calendars to be helpful stocking stuffers. A pocket calendar is a small calendar that could fit in a pocket or purse.

Use these helpful gifts as stocking stuffers, and your retail worker will probably appreciate your thoughtfulness. You may even give those retail workers something they didn't know was missing.
