Best Street Food in Boston

Unlike New York City, Boston might not be a city known for having amazing street food but there are definitely some establishments that produce amazingly tasty street food in Boston. With traditional street food served from carts to the new form of street food served from window locations, one can find great street food to completely enjoy in Boston.

1) Speed's Famous Hot Dog Wagon

Speed's Famous Hot Dog Wagon is located in Newmarket Square in the southern most corner of the intersection near Victoria's Diner and the Grainger Building. Speed's is out almost every weekday unless the weather is extraordinarily bad and is also set up on some Saturdays. Referred to by many as the best hot dogs in the greater Boston area, even after its elderly founder handed the operation over to his apprentice. Speed's apprentice has not let quality slip and by being set up on a more regular basis has been able to bring the joy of hot dogs to more people in Boston more often.

3) Chacarero

All though Chacarero's is now located at two different window front location the original Chacarero was located in a cart. Chacarero's two locations are Downtown Crossing or 26 Province Street, (617) 367-1167, and 101 Arch Street, (617) 542-0392. Chacarero serves phenomenal Chilean sandwiches and other dishes. Both locations are open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Chacarero's sandwiches are excellent at priced to sell with nothing on their menu priced over eight dollars.

4) Herrera

Located in a variety of locations including Downtown Crossing, Summer St., and also featured at Herrera Restaurant in Temple Place. Herrera's serves some of the best tacos, burritos available from a cart in Boston and are the best tacos and burritos available in downtown. They also have soups and other Mexican inspired dishes throughout the year at the carts and restaurant. Another great thing about Herrera is that they have some of the most competitive and reasonable prices.

5) Daddy's Dough

Found outside Park Street Station, Daddy's Fried Dough serves up some of the best-fried dough in the Greater Boston Area. In addition to traditional and very tasty fry bread, at this stand the charming proprietor will also add a variety of pie filling and toppings to the already delicious fried dough. Flavors include apple, cherry, chocolate syrup and Boston Crème Pie. Regular fried bread with cinnamon and sugar or powdered sugar cost only four dollars, the fried dough with additional topping only run a dollar more at five dollars.
