Best Summer Activity - A Day at the Beach

Summer is the best season for great outdoor activities. The weather is perfect and this is usually the best time to get family and friends together. During this time children are out of school and parents are trying to find the perfect activities to spend with them and get them out of the house. I believe that there is one perfect solution to the best summer activity for everyone, and that is the beach.

The beach has to be my all time favorite summer activity. It is the best way to cool off during extremely hot days and you can also make it a very active activity you are playing in the waves and swimming. Depending on which beach you go to you may be provided with umbrellas for shade and have the opportunity to participate in some of the best summer extracurricular activities such as water skiing and surfing. The most important thing that you have to mindful of is the extreme heat. The beach does not have any shaded areas unless you are provided with an umbrella or you bring an umbrella with you. You should make sure to have an abundance of water and sunscreen. I would definitely avoid going to the beach in the middle of the day since that is the hottest part of the day. The best times to go is right after the sunrise and right before the sunset. You will also get great beach photos during those times as well.

Another reason that I enjoy the beach in the summer is because of the great seafood that is available. I am a foody and I love all types of food, but my favorite would have to be seafood. I only get to eat the best seafood when I go to the beach because the seafood is fresher there because it is right near the beach and does not have to travel so far to me. No matter what beach you go to there are so many seafood restaurants available that you will definitely get your fill before you leave. The summer season is the best season for seafood because you it is so plentiful and available. The most wonderful thing is going to a restaurant and sitting on the patio with your dinner and watching the sun set over the ocean while you slurp oysters or peel shrimp.

No matter what beach you decide to visit, you will also find some of the best shopping for summer attire. I like to think this is true because the stores are catering to those that also live near the beach and their attire is centered around that and the weather. I like to complete my summer wardrobe from shopping at the stores located around the beach or the outlet malls. They will contain some of the most beautiful swimsuits, the best sandals, and the most inexpensive shorts and tank tops. I also find some of the best light and comfortable summer dresses.

I love the water and the beach is just my favorite place to be no matter what. I would definitely suggest if you have never been to a beach to definitely go this summer. My favorite beaches would have to be Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, Tybee Island in Georgia, and Jacksonville Beach in Florida. All of these beaches offer different summer activities, but they are all linked by their beautiful beach sight.
