Many wines lovers like Merlot wines. But all Merlot wines are not the same, however. There are differences to each brand and make. Here are the five of the best Merlot wines for you to try this upcoming summer.
- Arbor Mist Cranberry Twist White Merlot. This is one of the best summer wines out there because it has a light, fruity taste that will refresh you and quench your thirst on a hot summer day. This Merlot is made with crisp white Merlot, cranberries, and kiwi, and it's taste best served well chilled. This wine only cost about four dollars for a small bottle or seven dollars for a large one and can be bought at Winn Dixie, Wal-Mart, Publix, and most other grocery stores.
- Wild Vines Blackberry Merlot. This is another great summer Merlot as it carries tastes of a summer berry, the blackberry. It is also another fruity Merlot that tastes like sweet ripe blackberries-perfect for soaking up the summer sun. This is a delicious summer wine and can be bought at a great price of only about four dollars at Save-A-Lot and many other stores.
- Gallo Sonoma Reserve Merlot. This Merlot is a softer type of Merlot. In addition to Merlot, it contains hints of berries, vanilla, spice, blackberry pie, wild berries, and jam. These all combine to create a full and rich flavor that with only subtle hints of oak. Never bitter, this is a wine lover's delight. Plus, it's a friendly price of only about four or five dollars at any Winn Dixie, Wal-Mart, or other similar stores.
- Livingston Merlot. This wine isn't as strong as Cabernet, but it's not as fruity as Chianti either. It's a nice medium that has hints of raspberry and cherry, so not too fruity or strong. This is a great summer red wine that is affordable and can be bought at common stores like Wal-Mart and Winn Dixie. This stuff usually comes in a larger container, however, but it's still only about six to eight dollars a bottle.
- Fish Eye Merlot. This is a nice and fruity wine that has strong hints of plum. Plus, not only is good by itself, but it's fantastic served with entrees as well. This wine costs about six dollars and can be found in most any store that sells wine such as Winn Dixie, Wal-Mart, etc.
Those are the top five summer merlots. All of them are perfect for lounging around on a hot, summer day and are sure to please.
