Best Tampa New Years Eve Parties 2009

For new years eve 2009 there is so much action going on between Channel Side and Ybor City to keep anyone busy with plenty of parties. Keep in mind that with the electric trolley that travels between these two points getting from one location to the other shouldn't be a problem.

Fireworks

If what you are really interested in is fireworks for new years even in Tampa there is no need to pick between Ybor and Channelside. You can see both! In celebration of the Outback Bowl being in town there will be a big parade in Ybor City starting around 5:30 pm with fireworks concluding the celebration around 8:15. Channel Side will be the location for the traditional new years eve 2009 fireworks display. There will be a ball drop and fireworks at midnight. These can be seen from the Channel Side Plaza or the bridge that goes between Channel Side and Harbour Island.

Florida Aquarium

The Florida Aquarium will be holding their annual New Years Aqua Eve 2009. This event will require ticket purchase ($75.00-$100.00). This price includes live entertainment, food, beer, wine, and a champagne toast ad midnight. The Florida Aquarium will also have excellent views of the fireworks display at Channel Side. It is sure to be a magical new years eve.

Jackson's Bistro

For a little less you can ring in new years eve 2009 at Jackson's Bistro. This location has an excellent water view with a very young, hip environment. The party will star around 9 pm and the tickets are $45.00 per person. Although this may sound like a lot, it really is a good price for a new years eve event in this area.

Yacht Star Ship

A unique way to experience new years eve 2009 is on the Yacht Star Ship. Tickets are $99.00 for a cruise that is all inclusive with extravagant food stations, passed hors d oeuvres, open bar and live entertainment. On top of all of this they will be sure to give you an excellent view of the Channel Side fireworks at midnight with your champagne toast. What a unique and truly memorable way to ring in the new year.

Channel Side

The Channel Side complex is a great area to party if you really just want a place you can hang out with your friends and have some drinks. With the court yard set up you are allowed to enjoy the outside entertainment while enjoying your beer. This is also an excellent location to see fireworks at midnight. I would just remind you that there probably will be a cover charge to get into the different bars on new years eve 2009 so it will still be more expensive than your average night out. However, for my experience it is still a great location.

St Pete Time Forum

The Barenaked Ladies sure must love Tampa for new years eve because I swear for the past 5 years at least they have been spending it with us by performing at the St Pete Times forum for at least the past 3 years if not longer. This event has the option of a full party and concert or concert only tickets. The ticket price ranges from $25.00-$150.00. Despite the locations name this is actually in the downtown channel side area. See the St Pete Times Forum page for details.
