Paying a regular visit to the hospital is never my concern until when my Mum was admitted. She stayed for barely 3 weeks after went through a major surgical operation. Then I became familiar with the hospital and a friend to those in the hospital. I can give a common figure of my approaches and regular meeting with people I have never seen for the first time. Some in bad mood while some better. Thus I formed a forum about the sick with my little ability using a piece of notebook for my recordings. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses who worked jovially. They helped ensure patients' recovery from ill health.
Back home was like a Christmas galore. Friends and well wishers had all mate in our sitting room waiting for the 'raised from the death' to arrive. It was in the evening of that same day that they all gathered chanting and singing glamorous and victorious songs in praise of God and worship. I am glad to be the chief MC and at the same time the committee chairman (approved by myself). Not too long around after 4pm, the celebrity (my Mum) came in from the unexpected door. This time she came through the kitchen door as though she was strong enough to cook for the visitors. She dressed on a new purple veil cotton gown to rhyme with the shoes she wore.
The guests were entertained. There were enough to eat and drink. Gift items were given to her while some gave her money. My interest was in the gift they gave to her. Many brought one type of gift and that was the Orange fruit. I made a cynical statement although not before the guest that NO More Orange should be accepted. Instead Apple should be brought in place of the Orange. In my mind, I have drawn the apple and the Orange. The Apple was marked good while the Orange was marked bad. It sound so funny but I know they would always give what they have and not mandated by anyone accept within themselves.
I enjoyed every bit of the moment which ended with the thanksgiving service at the local church. More guests joined in the thanksgiving thanking God for his mercies on her and the family. My joy has no bound till at this moment of writing this article. If not any other thing, I enjoyed their company and prayers they offer to us.
