Best Top Chef Villains

Debi Rideout
Top Chef the TV show is fascinating to watch because of some of the villains that are on it. None of the villains on Top Chef seem to appear at first, but as the show goes on it is safe to bet that there is always at least one villain that people love to hate. People love a villain whether is fair or unfair to the contestant. The following are the best Top Chef Villains in my opinion:

1. Top Chef San Francisco

Season 1 of Top Chef was held in San Francisco. I think that Stephen Asprinio is an entertaining villain in this season. It is not like he is a mean spirited villain towards others. He just has a very sanctimonious attitude. He thinks he is superior to everyone, and to me that is very entertaining.

2. Top Chef Los Angeles

Season 2 of Top Chef was held in Los Angeles. I know that some people love to say that Marcel Vigneron is the villain of that season, but I would have to beg to differ. I think the true villain was actually the winner of season 2 Top Chef, Illan Hall. Sure, Marcel annoyed some people, but I found Illan to be very mean spirited. I was aghast with anger and shock when Illan egged on everyone to shave Marcel's hair without his permission. He also made several verbal attacks about Marcel and his virginity. The attacks of Marcel lead me to want to see Illan get kicked off of the show. I think he is a very sneaky person, and I just do not respect him even if he was the winner of the show. In my book, he is the number one villain of Top Chef so far.

3. Top Chef Miami

Season 3 of Top Chef was held in Miami. My pick for the villain of this season would have to be the winner, Hung Hunynh. He might have been the chef winner, but he definitely would not be a winner for being a team player. I found him to be obnoxious and irritating. When he refused to help the other chefs out I lost all respect for him as a chef and person.

4. Top Chef Chicago

Season 4 of Top Chef was held in Chicago. Lisa Fernandes is many people's pick for being the villain of this season including mine. Lisa proved to be a very sore loser. I am not even sure how she made it to the finale considering she kept being on the bottom three most of the time. Her constant whining was very unpleasant. Remember her whine comment something along the lines of, "No one congratulated me. This isn't a popularity contest." It really is not that great to be so full of yourself.

5. Top Chef New York

Season 5 of Top Chef was held in New York. Due to the show still in progress it is a bit harder to see who this season's true villain is yet. There are a couple of people who annoy me so far. Stefan Richter's non stop winning bugged me a bit. I was actually pleased to see him fail the Super Bowl challenge. I thought his laughter over Carla meditating was uncalled for. Leah Cohen and Hosea Rosenberg annoyed me by kissing when they have people back at home. That is just wrong. Hosea does not seem happy for other people, and he seems very arrogant. His comment to Miguel at the Super Bowl challenge struck a negative note in me, "I want you to like me, so it doesn't seem so bad when I win." I have a feeling that he will become my main villain of season 5.

We had the same picks. LOL I chose Stefan from season 5 b/c he reminds me of a villain from an action movie; the shaved head, pensive smoking, wood chopping and arrogance.
