Best Toys of 2009: Toy Ideas for Big Kids

Matthew Shively
Ready to start Christmas shopping for the best toys of 2009 for big kids? Well here is an excellent toy shopping guide for big kids. Even though times change there is always the joy kids hold inside during the holiday season; ripping the wrapping paper off the Christmas gifts to see what they received.

The key to shopping during the holidays is shopping for the right gifts that contain excellent quality and ones that have value.

DS™i from Nintendo®

Here is a new creation by the makers of Nintendo DS. The DSi from Nintendo brings together the fun of handheld gaming with the additional ability to take pictures and search the internet. This is a great electronic for any child ages 6 and up and comes in black, blue, or pink. This amazing device has a dual touch sensitive screen and comes with a stylus to help control gaming actions. Best part of all is the fact that your child can still play all their previous DS titles and still grow their gaming library with DSi titles. Unlike the Nintendo DS the Nintendo DSi allows the gamer to listen to music like and iPod, get directions to the nearest store like a GPS system, or even upload their pictures for their friends and family to see on Facebook. The Nintendo DSi takes one "lithium ion" rechargeable battery that is included with your purchase.

Reader™ Pocket Edition™ from Sony®
The Reader Pocket Edition from Sony is probably one of my favorite educational electronics on the market for my children. The Reader Pocket Edition has the capacity to store almost 350 standard eBooks and is small enough to fit in a pocket for later reading. Take this electronic on car trips, plane flights, or to your favorite restaurant to get a couple chapters in on your favorite book. The Reader Pocket Edition has a five-inch display and comes in several different colors like blue and rose. The most amazing aspect of the Reader Pocket Edition is the fact that you can read as much as you want for two weeks on a single battery charge. The reader comes with a USB cable and one "lithium ion" rechargeable battery. This gift is perfect for children or adults 12 years of age and up.
