other issue. Plus the cost to license the original music for DVD are prohibitively high. Unfortunate as this may be, some of us can still view certain shows via the web. And that's if you're lucky. Some series are viewed on television in reruns and then there are those who just aren't playing anywhere.
One of my favorite shows of all time is China Beach. It is one of my mom's favorites and when she told me about it I was slightly interested. I practically had to go on a mission just to find at least one episode. And in time I was able to find all of them. Since I was a toddler when this show first started, I had no idea how well written this show actually is.
It is the first show about war that I had ever seen and it was done so realistically in my book. The characters all have something to bring to the table and the acting is incredible. If anyone remembers the episode 'The Unquiet Earth' will say that it was truly one of the best episodes.
I was introduced to Ally McBeal back when I was in middle school and I was hooked. I had never seen a show so quirky before. David E. Kelley is a master at great television programs. He had also given us Picket Fences and Boston Public, which was canceled way too soon. To me, Ally McBeal was in a class of its own because of the mixture of court drama a serious laughs. And I don't think anything will ever be as hilarious as this.
Rocko's Modern Life was a hilarious animated series that got me through my childhood. It was simply about a wallaby living with his dog and hanging out with his two friends, who are a steer and a turtle. The whole show is ingenious how it plays out. And you were never really sure about how it was going to end.
I think most people will agree with me that the funniest episode was the shopping mart one. Poor Rocko had gone to the store with high hopes and few bills in his wallet. He tried to make the sale and ran out of time because of occurrences in the store that were keeping him away from actually shopping.
Another great cartoon show that I loved was called Doug. He was a typical, but somewhat overly cautious, middle school kid with a crush. And that crush was Patti Mayonnaise. We followed the life of him, his best friend Skeeter, the bully Roger, and an assortment of other characters throughout the series. The whole show was great kids and there's hasn't been a deeply touching show like this one. I may be older now, but I would definitely watch it again.
