From great classic animated Christmas TV specials to Christmas TV specials that make it hard not to pack on the holiday pounds, I'm taking a look at the best Christmas TV specials to watch each day before the holiday. Here on Santa's nice list you will find some of the best Christmas TV specials to watch on December 16, 2009. From animated reindeer, mice, and puppets to edible ornaments and even some spooky holiday guests, there's sure to be some great Christmas TV treats of December 16, 2009 here for everyone on your Christmas list:

Disney's Prep & Landing - ABC, 8:00 p.m. - Here's one of the best new animated Christmas TV specials for kids of 2009. It takes a look at the high-tech world behind Santa's infamous trip around the world, with his squadron of elite elves using state-of-the art gadgetry to make sure good little girls and boys get their own high-tech Christmas gifts. It's one of the best newer animated Christmas TV specials of 2009 you'll see, so if you haven't caught it yet, be sure to DVR it this time.

The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas - ABC Family, 7:00 a.m. - Here's one of the best Christmas TV specials for those of us that can't get enough of our other favorite holiday: Halloween. The Munster family is trying to throw a monstrous Christmas party, but accidentally turn Santa into the most horrifying thing possible: a fruitcake! So can they solve the problem and have a mad, merry monster Christmas party? If you're looking for unique Christmas TV specials airing in December 2009, they don't get much more bizarre than this one.

Pinocchio's Christmas - ABC Family, 6:00 p.m. - This is one of the many Rankin-Bass animated Christmas TV specials airing in December 2009, but this one won't be on TV as much as some of the others (in fact, this might be the only time it airs during 2009), so be sure to DVR it! Pinocchio wants badly to get Geppetto a Christmas gift, so he sells the book he bought him for Christmas present money. However, he is tricked out of it by some crafty animals, which leads him on a series of Christmas misadventures (and of course to telling a lot of lies). So will Pinocchio finally realize what really matters and make it home for Christmas? This is one of the more original animated Rankin-Bass animated Christmas specials, so don't miss your chance to see it.

Mickey's Christmas Carol - ABC Family, 7:00 p.m. - And here's one of my all-time favorite animated Christmas specials. Join Mickey and the gang for a funny and feel-good (and even sometimes creepy) retelling of Dickens' classic Christmas tale. From a ghostly Goofy to a penny-pinching Scrooge McDuck, this is one of those animated Christmas specials that we still enjoy seeing in 2009 just as much as we did when we were kids.

Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too - ABC Family, 7:30 p.m. - This is one of the best animated Christmas specials airing in 2009 for very young kids, with Pooh and his pals working on their perfect Christmas list. They learn a lesson about being greedy, and are rewarded by their very own much younger version of Santa Claus with the simplistic gifts they wanted most to begin with. Of course they also learn that Christmas is about much more than just asking for lots of presents. Kids will love seeing their favorite Hundred Acre Woods characters in what is one of the most entertaining animated Christmas specials aimed especially at the wee ones.

Food Network Challenge: Edible Ornaments - Food Network, 7:00 p.m. - The Food Network Christmas-themed challenges are also some of my favorite Christmas TV specials, with chefs getting ultra-creative by blending the holidays into their culinary creations. This competition involves chefs decorating trees with ornaments that must be completely edible, and while it's not one of the most helpful of the Christmas TV specials involving food you'll see (decorating a tree with any kind of edible ornaments is a terrible real-world idea, especially if you have a dog, trust me), it is pretty entertaining.

Cake Boss: Colorful Characters & Christmas Costumes - TLC, 5:30 p.m. - And here's one of the newer TV Christmas specials of 2009 involving a kitchen full of Christmas cheer. 'Cake Boss' is one of those shows that is pretty addicting, and it's fun to see the amazing Christmas cakes the Boss and his crew crank out during this time of the year. If you're looking for creative Christmas cake ideas of your own, then this may be one of the best Christmas TV specials for you (but most of the Boss's cakes are pretty hard to copy).

A Flintstones Christmas Carol - Cartoon Network, 9:00 a.m. - This is yet another of the many animated Christmas TV specials that uses Dickens' tale for the base storyline. Fred has played Santa in animated Flinstones Christmas TV specials of the past, but here he is a very stingy (and very believable) Stone Age Scrooge. So will he remember the true meaning of the holidays and get a dose of yabba-dabba yuletide cheer before the holiday is over? This is one of those animated Christmas TV specials that is a little over-the-top, but it's still fun to celebrate the holiday the B.C. way here in 2009 (I know, this makes absolutely no sense).

Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale - Cartoon Network, 7:00 p.m. - I love the Nutcracker music, and this is one of the few animated Christmas TV specials airing during December 2009 that uses a good portion of it. The same old Tom & Jerry chases are set to the tune of this amazing holiday music and given a Christmas theme, with toys coming to life and taking part in the action. This is also definitely one of the must-see animated Christmas TV specials here, because it's the last that Joseph Barbera worked on before he died.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! - Cartoon Network, 9:00 p.m. - Just how many times one of our favorite classic animated Christmas TV specials has already aired during December 2009 is a testament to just how much we all love it. This inventive Christmas tale told in rhyme focuses on what is now one of our favorite Christmas villains of all time. But when he tries to hijack the Whos' holiday cheer with the help of his scrawny makeshift reindeer, the Grinch learns the truth behind the Whos' holiday spirit and even becomes a part of it. When it comes the best animated Christmas TV specials of all time, it doesn't get any better than Boris Karloff narrating this colorful Christmas rhyme.

A Johnny Bravo Christmas - Cartoon Network, 8:30 p.m. - Here's one of the silliest animated Christmas TV specials on this list. Womanizer Johnny Bravo needs more than mistletoe to get his Christmas wish, having to travel all the way to the North Pole to see Santa. So will he get a gift, or just another punch in the face? Watch to find out in what is one of the most rock n' roll animated Christmas TV specials you'll ever see.

So from great classic animated Christmas specials to a few yummy holiday treats and some more original modern Christmas cartoons, hopefully these Christmas specials airing on December 16, 2009 will make this one day closer to the Christmas holiday an entertaining one.
