There's something about Valentine's Day that makes us giddy. There's something about that date, that red color and those cute little cut-out hearts along with those heart-shaped chocolates in heart-shaped tin cans mounted on a fresh bouquet of flowers that simply tickles the young and adventurous romantic in us. There's something about Happy Heart's Day that simply moves us, compels us and inspires us to remember and reminisce, to create, to get outrageous, and to fall in love with the same person again for the millionth time! Valentine's Day insists on soliciting signs and symptoms of a pandemic malady affecting everyone who have experienced love, who wants to love and be loved, and even those who have lost their loves.

Everyone clamors for the most romantic gifts, schedules the most special dates and concocts the most saccharine love poems they can muster. Creative or not, everyone will always think of creating something special for their beloved. What could be more special and touching than making you and your couple's very own valentine's craft scrapbook?

Scrapbooks are great keepers of romantic memories. More special than photo albums that only hold pictures, compact disk that only have love songs, and a book of poems which can simply be grabbed and bought, a scrapbook can contain all memorable photos, copies of favorite love songs, and a hand-written copy of a personalized love poems! Nothing could go wrong with making a scrapbook as a Valentine's craft. Nothing, except the fact that not everyone is creative and not everyone has an idea of what particular theme to apply in their very own scrapbook. To address this dilemma of paramount importance, here below is a list of some simple things and events that can be transformed and created into the most romantic themes for your very own Valentine's craft scrapbook.

  • First Dates - Everyone always remembers something - if not everything - about their first date even if you are already into your fortieth Valentine's Day as a couple! You will always remember that special scent she wore which sent a series of tingles down your already-nervous spine. Even she can still smell the sweet scent of the flowers that you handed her as you led her into that dimly-lit corner table. Why not start from these memories? An entire scrapbook can be devoted to a particular special date that you both shared together in the past. Include a photograph if possible. Throw in a matchbox from the restaurant where you dined and a few dried petals from the flowers he gave you along with a lipstick-marked napkin as well as a copy of the song heard while dining and a memorable line he whispered during dinner while you sipped champagne. These should be enough to make you remember and fall in love all over again.
  • Hobbies - Valentine's Day is all about love. And since it's about love, it need not always be about yourself. What does your partner enjoy doing in his or her spare time? What is his or her hobby? Creating a Valentine's craft scrapbook using your partner's hobbies not only give you a theme to work on with but, more importantly, it will tell your partner how much he or she means to you as small details of his or her personality is seen through your eyes and reflected on your valentine's craft. Creating a valentine's craft scrapbook using the small details about his or her hobby will tell your partner that even the tiniest details about his or her person did not go unnoticed. What could be more touching? What could be more romantic?
  • Dreams and Wishes - Lovers, partners, and spouses share more than a tube of toothpaste and a toilet seat. They also share secret dreams and silent wishes. Why not show your partner how much you care by making all his or her dreams and wishes come true - if not in reality, then on a Valentine's craft scrapbook at least? Where do you both want to live after your retirement? What about a photo of that expensive six-digit sports roadster he has been surfing on the net about for ages that you both simply can't afford for now? And didn't she say that she have always wanted to bask under the sultry Mediterranean sun in the cruise vacation of her dreams? Where are those vacation brochures that you have collected hoping to finally be able to afford to go on one? Why not throw them into your Valentine's craft scrapbook now?
Ideas for themes abound. It is just a matter of opening our eyes to the possibilities of endless meaning and beauty in simple, ordinary things and events shared with our loved ones. And if we are to believe in what people say about being in love and seeing beauty in everything and everywhere, then finding these beauties in small, simple things and translating them into a Valentine's craft scrapbook should not be as impossible - or dull - as we thought it would be!
