Best Vegan Restaurants in Cleveland

Being a vegan in Cleveland, Ohio has it's challenges, but there are many ways around the hassle of trying to find or explain your unique needs. I highlighted my favorite stops for a satisfying meal and a special surprise for vegan desserts lovers.

Johnny Mango is the place to go for a no hassle vegan meal. Simply asking the staff to veganize your choice is all you need to do, no in depth explanation necessary. This corner restaurant is fun and friendly and has amazing food options. Extremely affordable this is a great place for a meal and to just hang out. It's located in trendy Ohio City minutes from downtown.

Smoothies are top notch and their vegan brunch is perfectly delightful, and inexpensive. An interesting choice is their vegetable of the day, direct from the nearby Westside Market. I like this option for the sheer fact the food is local and without a doubt fresh, not to mention prepared for me.

Nature's Bin in Lakewood has a lot to offer. A simply perfect place to shop for the freshest local produce, groceries, dairy alternatives and vegan and gluten free bakery. The wonderful chefs will even make a vegan birthday cake upon request. Personally, I love their quick lunch options, sandwiches, soups, salads and more.
Another plus for this healthy shop is their commitment to helping people. Working with the amazing folks at Cornucopia Inc, Nature's Bin is a vocational rehabilitation training facility for people with disabilities.
For those of you planning a vegan party, consider ordering from their catering menu. Your friends will love you!

Mustard Seed Market and Café clearly has it all. Not only is it a full service restaurant, with banquet facilities, catering and live bands. But the market is incredibly well stocked and full of knowledgeable staff. There two locations make it easy to find a delicious vegan meal and both locations have free WiFi available.
There are many items in the store to satisfy a vegan or raw lifestyle, as well as great organic choices and vegetarian fare. A great place to meet up with friends, this hip establishment has been around over 28 years.
Watch their website for news of specials and events, including a fun Groundhog day sale.

Finally, for a vegan treat you can't beat go to Tremont Scoops. This old fashioned ice cream parlor located in the artsy Tremont neighborhood is so sweet for offering such amazing dessert alternatives. Ice cream sandwiches, chocolate covered bananas and special order vegan ice cream cakes and pies. Although there is generally a delicious slice of vegan pie or two for sale. The pumpkin chiffon is the bomb.
Unfortunately, since it is a traditional ice cream parlor, and it is cold in Cleveland in the winter, you will have to wait until April to catch a scoop.
