Best Video Games to Buy Girlfriends This Holiday Season

Not sure what to buy your girlfriend for Christmas? If she owns a game console, forget about the jewelry and do something different for Christmas - buy her a video game. Unless she is expecting to get engaged for Christmas, she won't be disappointed when you surprise her with one of these fun games.

Wii

If your girlfriend enjoys sports, buy her Wii Sports Resort. Sports Resort has a ton of fun games, including golf and bowling and is a great way to have fun and get some exercise - but don't mention the last part to your girlfriend if you want to make it to see another Christmas.

I don't know many people who didn't play Mario Kart a few times as a kid. If your girlfriend liked to play video games when she was younger, buy her Mario Kart Wii. Not only will it take her back to her youth, she will have a great time with the new version of the game. Buy two controllers if you want to race her, but don't pout if she wins.

PS3

Buy American Idol Karaoke Revolution for your girlfriend if she enjoys singing or simply likes the show. Pick up an extra microphone to sing along with her on duets. You can also download more songs for the game through Playstation Online. This game is a lot of fun, especially when you have a bunch of people over for a party.

Consider buying Dance Dance Revolution for your girlfriend. Even if your girlfriend isn't big on dancing, this game is fun to play. The game shows you where to step on the dance pad and the higher you level up, the harder and faster the game is.

Xbox 360

If your special lady likes music at all, buy her one of the Rock Band or Guitar Hero games. My personal favorite is The Beatles: Rock Band game, but if you're looking for a little more diversity in songs, try one of the regular Rock Band or Guitar Hero games. The entire Rock Band set (including the microphone, drums, and guitar) can be a little expensive, so if you're not looking to spend as much money, Guitar Hero is the way to go.

Sonic the Hedgehog is another game that your girlfriend might enjoy. The game was originally released on the Sega Genesis, but has now made it to the Xbox. This game won't get you active like some of the others listed, but it is fun to play.
