Best Ways for a College Student to Make Money

Chris Jones
Although many colleges offer a work-study program, they force college students to work long hours that interfere with their studies. Sure they say they can be flexible, but on the other hand, you the college student are getting paid minimum wage.

No, as a college student, you are gathering the knowledge to become the future successors of our society. You deserve better than that. Minimum wage is not for you!

Be smart about the possibilities of making money. I will highlight three major sources of making money, the internet, your college textbooks, and a local job.

Internet
First off, the internet has a million ways of making money for that any college student can accomplish. You can sell your old junk or even your roommates junk on eBay. You can also start a blog and utilize Google Adsense. Since you are a college student, you probably have wonderful writing skills. You can even write for websites such as Associated Content and Constant Content. They pay is not amazing but it adds up quickly. And the best part about this is that it fits the schedule of a college student. You can make money when you are in class or lounging in your room at night. There is no work schedule and you can honestly make money during your break times.

College Textbooks
Another major source of making money is from your college textbooks. If you sell your textbooks online at the right time on websites such as eBay or Amazon, you will make more money than selling your textbooks to your local bookstore. On that note, you can even sell your friends college textbooks and keep a portion of the sale price for your effort. Although you might not make much money, it is actually a really good way to make a little bit of money for doing nothing except listing an item online. It is a low risk investment and your friends will thank you. You can even start a small book selling service.

Local Job
Rather than slaving for the college Housing office, consider applying for a nearby job at a café or other store. A café is a wonderful place to work for college students at because it has a laid-back atmosphere. As a college student, you will need to study and you can always study when you are not busy. You will not be bored out of your mind because your college friends can visit you. More importantly, the money will be better at the café.
