During the warmer seasons it's a must for budget fashionistas to scour the market for stylish leather boots. Depending on personal preference the perfect boot may be a stiletto, fur cuffed, shearling or a hiking style shoe and luckily there are thousands of styles to satisfy every appetite. Unfortunately, not everyone has the luxury of purchasing all they desire but there are ways to find affordable high end boots. Online retailers offer last season's styles without the hassle of traveling to and from the store while stores are re-focusing on new merchandise so you'll find budget freindly leather boots.

Brand Names at Online Stores

For example Type Z designs boots in supple leathers and releases new styles each season for the boot connoisseur. Type Z carries open-toe, studded, buckled, patchwork and a plethora of other styles. Although the average rate for a pair of Type Z leather boots can range from just under $100 and much higher that doesn't mean you can't find a pair to fit your budget. A web source that carries the Type Z brand for far below MSRP is 6pm.com. These boots may be from the last or transitional season but are stylish and cost a fraction of the normal price. Not to mention, 6pm.com offers a flat rate shipping and handling fee of $6.95.

Department Stores

At the retail level check the end of season sales at department stores such as Macy's, Dillard's, or Von Maur; and never forget the power of a good TJMaxx. These stores carry many brand name items and live by the mantra of "out with the old and in with the new." Sales usually run at the end of the season and in many cases fliers have been sent out with the morning paper with discount coupons. Do a little extra digging and you may even find the store's website is offering usable in-store discounts.

Knock-offs

If you're dieing to get your hands on a pair of thigh highs or over-the-knee boots in leather it's going to cost you for this season's designer labels. Labels such as Stella McCartney or Dolce & Gabbana can be well over a paycheck or two so start searching the web for knock offs or similar boots by different designers. Check out boots by PleaserUSA, Diba or Leg Avenue for over-the-knee or thigh high boots for far less at Shoebuy.com or Endless.com. The sites frequently offer discounts on a regular basis and free shipping both ways.

Another avenue for lower priced boots are are high-end outlet stores such as Nordstrom Rack or Off Saks. Check the prices carefully since the outlet prices aren't always as low as you may think.

Last Season's Boots

Ideally, designers send the newest selection of merchandise to retailers each season. Often these items are so similar you may not be able to tell if the suede over-the-knee boot from this season is different from the last. In many cases the original styles are re-newed because it sold very well. Another possibility is the same boot is available in another color to keep up with the trends. If this is the case purchase last season's boot and save some money. Not only will you save money but if it isn't too trendy; longevity will be the name-of-the-game. Not having to buy a pair of boots each season will warrant savings in the long run. Regardless of the brand shopping last season's stylish footwear will be less costly than this season's styles.

Last time when I bought a pair of leather boots was on a Boxing Day -- another way to save money and to find great deals and offers, although sometimes the Boxing Day it's tricky, so one just has to be careful. The prices in the store where I bought them were quite good.
