Parents have been trying for decades to make sure their children have the money they need when they need it. Our kids however will sometimes forget to contact us in advance or sometimes find themselves short for ridiculous reasons. Yet, we feel burdened if we cannot get them their needed funds as quick as possible.
Send Money By Using Your Banks P2P Option
Most banks have a Person to Person (P2P) option available to their patrons. Using the P2P option works amazingly well when the need arises to send your college student money quickly. Add the additional funds to their account immediately if they bank at the same bank. If the child has an account at a different bank, those funds will take up to two days to be added to the account.
A child away at college can be given a Money Pack card. The Money Pack card is available at Walgreen's or Walmart. these cards can be reloaded in one state for immediate use in another. As long as your child has their money pack card, you can go to the nearest money pack merchant and add funds to their card.
Don't have a bank account for whatever the reason? Don't worry! There is another option when you need to get money to a child in college. Dove Tell is now available. Using Dove Tell will help ease the anxiety of getting funds to your child away at college or away at school. Establish an account with Dove Tell. Provide the details required which are necessary to send your child money and within minutes of completing the transaction, Dove Tell will send an email to the recipient informing them of funds waiting.
No longer must you run around town trying to find a Money Gram or Western Union location to send money to your child. Of course, establishing a student checking or savings account is still the very best option that generally does not cost you any money other than any monthly account fees. However, when there is a need for other methods, numerous methods are now available.
Get the funds your child needs to them immediately by using one of the options available above.

Post a CommentWhat about PayPal? That works almost instantly too for someone with a Paypal debit card. Glad to know about these other options, had never heard of them. Sure beats paying $14 to send $100 through Western Union. This is such useful info, hope it takes off page view wise!
Great tips, I have never heard of some of these
Great topic, great suggestions, as always!
All great suggestions! Our college had their own "Diamond Dollars" card that parents could add money to as needed for their student.
Excellent options, thanks Malina!
Michele that is the absolute best way to make sure the money is there when they need it. My sister established a separate account for her children and just made regular deposits into it. When her daughter would overdraw, she would call to discuss her exhorbitant spending habits.
We always gave them a debit card and deposited $$$ into their accounts. We used the credit union, so they could basically go to any ATM and have the fees waved. Worked for us, cheers :)
