Sometimes you want to take a vacation. Sometimes you have to take a business trip. Sometimes a flight is an emergency. In all cases, you want to save money ordering a flight. Researching today's many airline ticket websites, I found four that took my interest in saving money:

Travelocity had some of the cheapest airfares I had seen. It offered straightforward information and it also gave the option of the customer being alerted personally about low fares. It is definitely one website to browse when searching for a cheap flight.

Orbitz was my favorite. If I had to travel tomorrow on short notice, this website found the cheapest air fare possible. I would definitely recommend this website to anyone flying on business or family matters.

Sidestep surprised me because it is not advertised as much as the other websites. Maybe that is why it had some of the cheaper flights-low cost in advertising. While I was looking for a specific date to fly, it displayed a calendar with a day where the fare would be cheapest. It felt like the people on the other side of the web screen were looking out for my welfare. It is a great tool of a website to use.

Hotwire was a site that I liked because when you put in your time slot, it gave the option of a better fare based on one day change. That is another great tool for someone who has flexibility in when he/she is supposed to be at a certain place.

Another website that is my runner-up in cheap airfares is http://www.cheapoair.com. It was not the cheapest in airfare but it came close.
