Best Wedding Venues in Ogden, Utah
Whether You're Looking for an Elegant Escape or a Downtown Party, There's a Place to Fit Your Wedding Dream
Ogden, UT
Whether you're just looking for something simple or planning something extravagant, there are a multitude of choices for any couple.
Reception Centers in the Ogden Area
1. The Edgewood (http://www.theedgewood.com), located at 1351 Valley Drive, has been a family owned and operated local favorite for half a century. Since the building itself was designed specifically with weddings in mind, there is an indoor chapel as well as an outdoor area for the formal ceremony. For the reception, the building offers spacious and beautifully landscaped gardens complete with a waterfall. Or if you're planning your ceremony indoors, the foyer and banquet area are perfect for either light refreshments or a sit-down meal, both of which can be ordered on-site without having to go through a third-party caterer.
The Edgewood also offers custom decor for the staircase as well as fresh flower centerpieces for every table with the basic wedding package. The basic package also includes catering, cake table and guestbook table decor, music, and of course the full building rental with private parking, and is less than $1,200.
Optional services that can be added to the packages include a full buffet, professional photography, a DVD/video service, invitations, limo services, ice sculptures, and more.
2. The Ivy Lane Reception Center (http://www.utahweddings.com/services/vendor-41,Ivy_Lane_Reception_Center.html), located at 1029 25th Street, offers not only wedding ceremony and receptions, but also wedding breakfaststs and rehearsal dinners as well. The building itself is a rennovated mansion on the historic Eccles Avenus site, featuring a grand staircase as well as a beautifully manicured garden.
Ivy Lane also offers invitation services, a baby grand piano for musical services, and a full menu for buffet dinners and luncheons to light desserts.
While not as spacious as other sites, Ivy Lane is one of the newest and cleanest facilities in the Ogden area, and its downtown location is excellent, especially in the winter months when traveling to valley or Ogden Canyon destinations would be troublesome.
3. The Grand Estate (http://www.grandestate.net), located on 800 Washington Blvd., is also a local favorite that offers both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremony choices as well as a lovely indoor reception center. The building's exterior is draped with dark ivy and the grounds are well-groomed with fresh flowers, making for a very elegant appearance in wedding photos and videos.
One feature unique to the Grand Estate is their portable dance floor and disc jockey services, which are available for both wedding receptions and other parties. The standard dessert buffet comes with every basic package, but can be upgraded to include fresh fruit, cheesecake, and chicken salad croissants.
The building's location just off Washington is great for Ogden City or North Ogden customers looking for a quick drive on major roads, and it's easy to find if you've never been in town before. Or if you'd like, you could order the inexpensive limo services so the bride and groom don't have to worry.
Overall, planning a wedding can be a difficult but rewarding experience, and whether you're looking for an out of the way reception location such as the Edgewood or something just a few blocks from home such as the Grand Estate, all three venues a have knowledgeable and helpful staff that can answer your questions just as they answered mine.
