Best Wetsuits for a Woman's Body

Women Need Wetsuits Shaped for Their Body and Not a Man's

Wetsuits for women used to be hard to find and if you did find them, they were usually a lesser quality suit than those made for men. With more women getting in competitive water sports, more companies are developing better suits that are designed for women. Because the suits are fitted, most women need suits that are smaller in the shoulders, wider in the hip and thigh area. Some women will find that they fit into a size small men's suit.

Roxy Full body Wetsuit- Roxy is the women's division of the surfer clothing company Quicksilver. Roxy has the best selection of cute and feminine women's surf gear. Their full body suit starts at around $300.00

Roxy Long Sleeve Jackets- In some areas that are warmer, a wetsuit isn't really needed. I like having the option of a long sleeve jacket. This "jacket" is pretty much just the top of the wetsuit and the surfer wears whatever bottom she would like. I like this option for when it's a little colder in the morning and later on when it heats up, I can just remove the top and go surfing in my bikini. Roxy's jackets are a little more affordable at around $65.00

Rip Curl Core Fireskin Full Wetsuit- This suit has a lot of great features. It is seamless in the underarms and shoulders so it allows for better arm movement. Nothing is worse than getting a rash from a seam rubbing on wet skin! The seams that are on the suit are really great because they are sealed and liquid taped. This prevents cold water from leaking in and giving a surfer a chill. This suit sells for around $240.00

NeoSport XSPAN Long Jane Wetsuit- A sleeveless full suit is a good idea for paddling sports like kayaking and canoing. Without sleeves, the wearer has total freedom of movement up top without freezing down below! This suit has sealed seems and a "relief" zipper to allow you some relief when you've had too much water! This suit is one of the cheaper full body suits at $129.00

Mares Tropic She Dives Full Wetsuit 3mm- This is a full body suit but it's meant to be used in warmer weather. It would be good for scuba diving or snorkeling in a more temperate climate like the Mediterranean or Mexico. It sells for around $100. It's a little bit less than the other suits because it's more basic, it doesn't have the seamed seams because it's not that big of a deal if water leaks a little.
