WarioWare-Smooth Moves: Terrific use of the Wii Remote; fantastic visual style; plenty of variety; smart multiplayer modes that make good use of the mii channel; great unlockables. This game is totally built around the Wii Remote. The game comprises more than 200 microgames which are smaller than minigames, and you usually perform one quick, decisive action, such as sawing through a log, twisting a maze so that a ball drops out, making Mario jump up and get coins, and so on. So each game lasts only about five seconds or so. The catch is that you don't know in what order the games are going to come at you, and as you play, the whole game speeds up. So it starts out nice and easy, but gets progressively more difficult. Each game uses the Wii Remote in a specific way and requires you to hold the Wii Remote differently. It's the variety in the microgames that keeps the game feeling fresh.
Donkey Kong Country 2: If you're looking for a diverse game that will take you a while to finish, look no further than Donkey Kong Country 2. You will need a GameCube controller or a Classic Controller to play the game, since the standard Wii Remote doesn't have enough buttons. This sequel has more levels, the computer-modeled graphics are more detailed, and there's plenty more for you to see and do. Donkey Kong Country 2 isn't just a set of new levels put together with the assets from Donkey Kong Country. Its 50-plus levels still fall into the "run to the right, jump over gaps, and avoid enemies" school of level design, but they're larger, involve a lot more climbing and backtracking, and give you many more opportunities to swim, swing from vines, and ride in mine carts. Once again, riding on top of friendly animals frequently comes into play, with a spitting spider and a high-jumping snake joining the rhino, swordfish, and parrot from the first game. A little trial and error is usually all that's required to hone the skills necessary to get through a level.
Super Paper Mario: Fun, engaging gameplay; great sense of humor; lengthy quest with a respectable amount of replay value. Although originally slated to be a GameCube release, Super Paper Mario has been shifted to the Wii to good effect. The unique game is a hybrid of platforming and role-playing that feels both new and familiar at the same time. The game has many of the aesthetics of the previous Paper Mario games and features an inventive story, eccentric characters, rock-solid gameplay, and genuinely funny dialogue. The game's story revolves around Mario's attempt to stop the dastardly Count Bleck, a new villain to add to the plumber's rogues' gallery, who has set out to destroy all worlds.
Well there you have it three top rated games according to Gamespot. Soon to be released June 19th will be Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Resident Evil 4 heads to the Wii, incorporating the control functionality of the Wii Remote and the additional content included in the Playstation 2 version.
