Best Winter Coats for Little Girls Under $60

Summer's coming to an end with a slight chill in the air and cool breezes are beginning to take over scorching sunny days. Even with a few nice days left it's time to get geared up for winter weather. Scarves and gloves are must haves for extreme temperatures but finding a jacket for your little girl can become a hunt. There are many styles available and keeping your little girl safe from the extremities and happy is important. Colors, appliques, plaid and embroidery all add to the design but insulation and durability are priorities. With the upcoming season there are many stylish winter coats to choose from.

Systems Jackets

The creation of the systems jacket relieved parents of having to buy separate jackets for each season. Since the outer jacket is wearable for warmer and cooler weather this layered jacket hits the mark as far as coats go. The systems jacket is primarily two jackets that are layered over each other. The interior jacket is usually thicker with a fleece lining for extreme weather while the outer jacket is a bit lighter in weight and longer to cover the inner jacket. This jacket is also called 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 systems coats because it can be worn three or four different ways.

Belted Coats

Little girl's pea coats in mixed blend fabrics are offered with over sized buttons and belts; which is a top trend in outer wear. Though a favorite, these jackets do not offer as much warmth since the lining is usually polyester. Some belted coats will offer quilted liners but that doesn't add to the insulation value. Trenches and single breasted coats offer more protection against the wind due to the length but these may not have enough insulation for colder climates.

Puffer Coat

The puffer coat has yet to lose its popularity due to the style and warmth. This season little girls puffer jacket's are available with top stitching, embroidery, fleece and soft terry lining along with hoods that are fur lined. Certain brands offer jackets with removable hoods and belts for a better fit. Depending on the puffer jacket the insulation is polyester fill or down. Some puffers will also offer a combination of down and feather making the coat feel a bit heavier than traditional goose down.
