Best and Worst of the American Idol Finale

The following are some of my picks for the best and worst moments of this year's finale of American Idol which pitted Scotty McCreery against Lauren Alaina.

Best: Beyonce and the American Idol girls group performance. They rocked it out when they performed together during the finale. And Beyonce's body shaking made J-Lo's booty shaking look almost frozen in time, and that's hard to do.

Worst: Your TV getting less beautiful. The finale means goodbye to viewing the most beautiful woman in the world, Jennifer Lopez, twice a week. For now anyways -- .

Best: The most shocking elimination bit. Casey and James arguing over who wins the award for the most shocking elimination on American Idol was actually pretty funny.

Worst: Painful moments. The one thing that American Idol can't seem to let go of is rehashing other people's humiliating moments. At the very least, the video of the girl falling down the stairs and crawling off in considerable pain should have been left out of the montage. People falling down is only funny when they don't actually get hurt.

Best: The return of TLC. TLC popping up on the finale show was a nice surprise.

Worst: The return of TLC. I love TLC but that performance seemed to need a little more work.

Best: Scotty McCreery winning American Idol.

Worst: Lauren Alaina not winning American Idol.
