Best and Worst Dressed at 2009 Oscars; Fashion at the Academy Awards

2009 Oscar Fashion: After all of the build-up for the 81st Academy Awards , the winners were all but pre-announced with a few exceptions heading into the 2009 Oscars. Many watched the 2009 Academy Awards solely to see which Hollywood stars would make fashion statements that would set trends and those which would be known for their bad fashion sense. This year's best-dressed at the Oscars were highlighted by Marisa Tomei, Sara Jessica Parker, and Meryl Streep. Some of the worst dressed were Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard and Angelica Huston.

Marisa Tomei looked great in her white Versace gown. Accentuated with a number of folds, the one shoulder of the gown helped show off her toned body and the pleats of the dress further complimented her red carpet look!

Sara Jessica Parker always leaves us waiting to see what she's going to wear down the red carpet at the Oscars and this year was no different! She brought in her 2009 Academy Award appearance wearing a Dior Haute Couture gown that showed off her toned body in only a way she could.

#1 Worst Dressed Star at the 2009 Academy Awards - Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman's purple and pink Rodarte dress with her criss-cross straps on the dress bodice just looked way too boring for this year's Oscars. The dress was definitely colorful, but just didn't fit her style or body.

#2 Worst Dressed Star at the 2009 Academy Awards - Marion Cotillard

Marion Cotillard proved that one can quickly shift from best to worst dressed in the span of a year. This time last year Marion was winning an Oscar for her part in La Vie en Rose and made a lot of Best Dressed lists with her Jean Paul Gaultier dress. Her Dior blue and black gown would have been a lot better off without the sequins and helped send her to the worst dressed for 2009.
#3 Worst Dressed Star at the 2009 Academy Awards - Angelica Huston

Angelica Huston must have been in a rush to hit the red carpet this year. Her gown at the 2009 Academy Awards was a hideous grape gown with shoulder pads and a weird hem. Hopefully she takes a lesson from this year and we see her on the best dressed list next year.
