Best WotLK Alliance Fishing Spots for Making WoW Gold, Part II

The Second Part of a Series on Using Your Fishing in WotLK to Make Gold

Sophie Stillwell
In WotLK's Northrend, certain types of fish can only be caught in certain areas, and these areas are divided into coastal areas and inland areas. In Part 1 of this gold making series, I examined a coastal fishing spot where your Alliance character can fish and make gold. This is Part 2 of the fish to make gold series, and will focus on an inland fishing spot.

Area 2 for WotLK fishing for WoW gold: Fort Wildevar

You can fish anywhere around the lake, but I prefer the end of the lower dock because you'll remain unmolested by any wandering WotLK monsters or beasts - which is key to maximizing your gold per hour return.

WotLK Fish Acquired at This Location:

Bonescale Snapper - moderate value This is the most common catch in this area and even though they are plentiful, they still can net a good amount of gold because you need 3 of them to make a highly desirable WotLK buff food.

Fangtooth Herring - high to moderate value This WotLK fish sells well because it makes another highly desirable WotLK buff food AND also makes a WotLK achievement food.

Glacial Salmon - high value You should get quite a bit of gold for these WotLK fish, as they are used to make a nice caster's buff food in WotLK.

Pygmy Suckerfish - high to moderate value This WotLK fish is used to make Pygmy Oil, which in turn is used to make several WotLK alchemy recipes. Pygmy Suckerfish are an interesting fished item in that you can't fish for them directly (as in schools of Suckerfish) but instead they are a secondary item presumably attached to whatever fish you fish up. They were once the highest gold-making fish in WotLK, but have since come down in value - but will still make good gold for you.

The nice thing about either of these areas is they are accessible to any Alliance character who is high enough level for WotLK. You will need lures when you start fishing in WotLK Northrend and should keep well stocked whenever you go out to make gold via fishing to decrease the possibility of WotLK fish getting away.
