Best Xbox 360 Racing Games for Fall 2010

Brandon Miller
Racing games are one of my favorite gaming genres (after First Person Shooters of course). I was very excited to see some of the titles that will be available this fall for the Xbox 360. There seems to be a little of something for everyone. Here are some of the best Xbox 360 racing titles to expect this coming fall.

Test Drive Unlimited 2
Release Date: September 2010

This game is sure to please any racing genre enthusiast. Test Drive Unlimited 2 features a huge open environment that lets players have complete freedom over how their ride is customized. In addition, players can also customize their avatar and purchase and design custom homes. The M.O.O.R. (Massive Open Online Racing) mode lets players meet up and interact with other players in clubs and other shared spaces around the city.

Days of Thunder: Nascar Edition
Release Date: Fall 2010

Feel like a more traditional racing experience? Try Days of Thunder: Nascar Edition. This title features a campaign mode where players customize their cars, connect with sponsors, and compete to become the best on the track. The game will also feature a multiplayer mode where up to 12 players can compete online.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Release Date: November 2010

There is nothing more exciting than a high speed pursuit. The Need for Speed franchise has never failed to please, so Hot Pursuit is sure to be a treat. The game features full campaign modes from two perspectives. Take to the streets as a notorious street racer or work to stop them as a police officer.

Sonic Free Riders
Release Date: November 2010

You've got to love these classic SEGA characters. In a "Mario Kart type" platform, this game will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 and will be played using the new Kinect motion sensing accessory premiered during this year's E3 in Los Angeles. The Kinect will allow players to control their racer by using their entire bodies. Not only will this be fun for kids, but it can also be great exercise for adults.

Joy Ride
Release Date: November 2010

Like Sonic Free Riders, Joy Ride will be completely controller-less. The game is a go-kart type that lets players compete head-to-head with friends or in the Xbox Live community.

I am not much into racing games, but I will admit that these sound like winners.
