Seven Foot Tall Latex Rabbit: Long after Chinese New Year passes, you'll still wonder why the heck you bought a seven foot tall white bunny. If you're frugal, you can tell your kids that it doubles as an Easter bunny or just hang on until the next Year of the Rabbit in 2023. I hope it deflates. ($11.95)
Killer Bunny Slippers: Forget the ordinary bunny slippers. These babies have teeth just like the Killer Rabbit in "Monty Python and The Holy Grail." The mouths even open and close when you walk. They only come in one size which fits up to a men's 12. Well, they have to be big if they're going to scare anybody. ($34.99)
Sackler Year of the Rabbit T-Shirt: The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in Washington DC is continuing its line of Chinese Zodiac merchandise. The shop now features a Year of the Rabbit T-shirt, onesie, and notecard to ring in the Chinese New Year. The designs are not posted online but you can call them at 202.633.0503 or email fsgonlineshopATsi.edu.
Rabbit Chopsticks: Mrs. Lin's Kitchen has an assortment of inexpensive chopsticks with rabbit designs in wood or bamboo whether you're throwing a Chinese New Year party or just eating take-out. They even have child-size chopsticks plus some ornaments and jewelry all under $15.
Year of the Rabbit T-Shirt: Gesshoku has a stylish long-sleeve t-shirt with a rabbit printed in black ink on a grey shirt with the Chinese character. They're 100% soft thick cotton with gently flared sleeves. The sizes are Small, Medium, Large, XL and 2XL. They all tend to run small so even a 2XL fits only about a 38 inch chest. They say you can call them if you want to get larger sizes or men's sizes. They also have the same design on a short sleeve Year of the Rabbit T-shirt printed in silver on black cotton or in black on white cotton. Those are just $15.99 and run up to size 5XL for $2 extra. There's even matching tote bags and messenger bags if you've always wanted to dress up in rodent themes. ($18.50)
Don't hate me for being a rat. I was born that way. But I still like these Year of the Rabbit t-shirts and Chinese New Year merchandise.
