Best New Year's Eve Party Games for Adults

Stephanie Bell
New Year's Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year. Here are three fun New Year's Eve party games for adults to play.

1). Two truths and a lie. Gather your guests in a circle and one at a time have them tell two truths and a lie. To make it more fun, have all three statements be realistic so it is more challenging to guess the lie. Once each person is done saying their two truths and one lie, have the other guests call out their guesses for what the lie is. After some debate, the guest should announce what statement is a lie. The next person can then take their turn.

This popular game is perfect for a New Year's Eve party because it is a good ice breaker and allows your guests to get to know each other better. The two truths and lie statements can also get downright wacky, so it is a fun way to make guests giggle.

2). Karaoke. Nothing gets a New Year's Eve Party going like karaoke! Combined with New Year's Eve cocktails, a game of karaoke can inspire even the shyest of guests to take a turn at the microphone. Use popular songs of the year or classic party songs to get your guests ready to party. If guests are too shy to sing solo, they can sing as a group. Some suggested New Year's Eve party songs can be found here.

Spruce up the karaoke game by turning it into a contest. Give guests awards for things such as best performance or funniest dance. Alternately, prizes can be taking home leftover snacks or alcohol, or everyone can contribute one dollar to the pool for one winner.

3). Limbo. This may seem like a children's game, but adults can really raise the stakes to make this a fantastic New Year's Eve game. Try doing the limbo with a shot in your hand and see if you can go without spilling it. (Be sure to have a large towel on the floor underneath the limbo stick). Guests can use New Year's Eve party items such as horns and confetti to cheer other guests on. Give the winner of the game a prize.
