With the overwhelming popularity of YouTube, it's difficult to select only the top 3 viral videos that rocked the internet. I could easily convert this list to a top 10-and just might in the future-but I have narrowed down my votes for the best of YouTube, which happens to include two music-themed selections.

Evolution of Dance by Judson Laipply - This video by the self-titled "inspirational comedian" features an incredible array of dances which flow into each other more seamlessly than the music soundtrack's transitions. The dance performance begins with Elvis Presley's"Hound Dog" with Laipply progressing flawlessly into doing "the twist," and continues to feature every thing from "YMCA" by the Village People, to Michael Jackson's "Thriller," all featuring the perfect dance or pseudo-dance moves accompaniment. Laipply's skill as a dancer-and comedian-is indisputable, and although the follow-up routine and parodies haven't reached them same viral status, few YouTube enthusiasts haven't heard of the Evolution of Dance. This viral video has over 140,000,000 views on YouTube, with over 600,000 "thumbs up" seals of approval. Click here to see the video, and visit the official video website here.

Here It Goes Again (The Treadmill Video) by OK Go - The video that launched a career, "the treadmill video" remains one of the best viral videos YouTube and the Internet has to offer. Featuring an original song by this Indie band, Here It Goes Again features the Chicago bandmates performing-you guessed it-on treadmills, in sync with each other and in tune to the Indie-rock melody. Amazingly enough, the video was shot in one takeaccording to URLesque. The Retro-inspired single helped to skyrocket OK Go into popularity in both the US and UK, and has been featured in numerous ad campaigns. This viral video has over 50,000,000 views on YouTube, with over 210,000 "thumbs up" seals of approval. Click here to see the video, and visit OK Go's official website here.

Greatest Freak Out Ever by wafflepwn on YouTube - The greatest warning about the effects of World of Warcraft to ever be created, this viral video features a kid ("Stephen") ranting and raving in his bedroom supposedly after his mother canceled his WoW account. Screaming, striping, assault with a shoe and even questionable application of a remote control follow to make this the best birth control ever. Subsequent videos have been uploaded by "Jack," the brother with the camera seen in the videos, and numerous forums have long debated the authenticity of these videos. This viral video has over 25,000,000 views on YouTube with over 100,000 "thumbs up" seals of approval. Click here to see the video, and visit Jack and Stephen on the official website here.
