Best-Selling Playstation 3 Games in the First-Half of 2009

The Playstation 3 was unmatched in the first-half of 2009. The lineups of the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 simply couldn't compete against Sony's high definition system. Due to strong first-party efforts in addition to excellent third-party support, Playstation 3 games managed to sell briskly so far in the year despite declining hardware sales. Here are the top five best-selling games on the Playstation 3 in the first-half of 2009 for the North American region.

5. MLB 09: The Show

With brand power and good word of mouth, UFC 2009 Undisputed is a resounding success on the Playstation 3 in the first-half of 2009.

3. Street Fighter IV

After the record-breaking success of Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III failed to match the same achievement as its prequel. Being the latest game in one of the most popular franchises in gaming also helped it be one of the best-selling Playstation 3 games so far in the first-half of 2009.

Arguably, no Playstation 3 game deserved this distinction more than Killzone 2.
