BET Bans Sexy Ciara Video

Is Ciara to hot for TV? The r&b singer and dancer's music video for her latest single, Ride, has been banned from BET. This has alarmed many diehard Ciara fans. They have tons of questions, and so do I! BET is a top spot for the promotion of urban music. Urban artists often need the support of the network in order to reach fans. What makes this music video anymore graphic then the other ones displayed on Black Entertainment Television?

The Ride music video features a scantily clad Ciara dancing up a storm in a simple back drop. She definitely shows the viewer how she "rides" it. At the end, she even rides a mechanical bull. Check out the video here! The r&b stars rock hard body and suggestive dance moves are definitely are definitely the standouts of the music video. The video is super sexy and is inappropriate for young children to watch but so are all of the other music videos shown on BET. Booty shaking, popping, and dropping are mainstays in a majority of the clips the channel chooses to air.

This brings me to my main point. If BET is going to ban music videos, she should judge each clip on specific requirements. They shouldn't pick and choose which videos are inappropriate based on their own judgment; especially when judgment is foggy, skewed, and unjust. Videos by Beyonce and Rihanna have been just as sexy. Both divas dress just as provocatively as Ciara.

The rap music videos the network plays are even more graphic. Rappers and hip hop artists continuously find new ways to objectify black women in their music videos, yet BET has nothing to say about this. As a network, BET has the right to air whatever they want. That is their choice. They owe viewers legitimate reasons though. BET needs to clearly define what is acceptable for their network.
