Bet on Yourself to Make Your Dreams Come True

Lotteries provide opportunities to win anything from small sums of money and prizes to very large amounts and prizes. But what can the lottery do for an individual that the person can't do for himself or herself?

Millions of people play the lottery each year. And that number will undoubtedly grow as the economy remains unhealthy or even worsens. People enjoy the excitement of playing for a chance to win money. They also like to entertain the idea of winning large amounts of money to pay off debts, buy luxury items, and fulfill their dreams.

When looking to increase income in times of decreasing job opportunities and increasing daily living expenses, including rising gas, groceries, and health care costs, the lottery becomes a possible solution for more people. But the reality is that very few people out of the many that play actually win anything, and most of them have continued to play for years and have spent significant amounts of money with nothing to show for it. The fact is that the chances of wining the lottery are about as good as the chances of discovering something extremely rare in your own backyard; it could happen but don't count on being that one exception.

A much more rewarding approach to getting money and making dreams come true is to participate in what can be referred to as a "best chance" lottery. Here, an individual is always a winner, and no matter what the outcome, the results are guaranteed to be positive.

The "best chance lottery" begins with believing in yourself and taking chances on your ability and innate power to succeed in making your very own dreams become reality. It requires having faith in yourself to use your strengths and interests to meet your own financial needs and make your dreams come true.

To apply this concept, start thinking in terms of seeing your glass as half full instead of half empty and thinking about what you have rather than what you don't have. Consider where your strengths lie. Write them down and add to them periodically as you discover new ones. Perhaps, for example, you have certain skills and talents? Maybe you have training such as special courses, certificates, or degrees? What about personal characteristics? Perhaps you are dependable, honest and trustworthy? All of these are very important assets you can be proud of, and they also increase your chances of success in whatever areas you apply them.

Then think in terms of money and specifics. If you want to make significantly more money beyond paying off debts and meeting daily living expenses, you need to have a good attitude about money and you need to envision specifically how much you want to make. If you believe, for example, that having a lot of money will make you greedy or have other negative associations regarding money, you will limit your ability to ever become wealthy. Also, if you think that you want to make more money but do not have an idea of how much, you will not give your mind what it needs to turn your thoughts into reality. For your "best chance" lottery, you will need to have a positive attitude about accumulating money and have an idea in terms of dollars and cents of how much you desire to make.

After this, you will want to become increasingly aware of everyday opportunities to use your strengths. If you need a job or a higher paying job, spend time looking and have friends help. Don't give up easily and keep your motivation high. If you have a particular skill and are creative, you might try to find avenues where your contributions could be used and be appreciated.

I personally know of several individuals who discovered opportunities to utilize their strengths to make their dreams come true. In each case, they persevered through rejections and seemingly not getting anywhere until they were successful. One individual who was unemployed put his photography skills to use and eventually earned enough money to buy the house of his dreams as well as start a small company. Today he is a multimillionaire.

Perhaps you want to be a successful novelist? Or start a company? Or work for someone but for higher pay and in a better position. While motivation and perseverance is necessary, and you might not achieve outstanding results overnight, your efforts will pay off much more successfully by taking chances on yourself rather than wait for the luck of a lottery to hit you. It is within your power if you believe and you do the legwork to be successful at whatever you wish to do.

Take a chance on the lottery now and then. It doesn't hurt. But remember the source for your "best chance" for making your dreams come true is you, yourself. Go for it!

Good advice. You may want to look at a piece I wrote on the traps of the Mega Millions lottery:
