Teachers Found Guilty of Having Sex with Students

Beth Ann Chester has finally been sentenced to 1½ to 3 years in prison after being found guilty of having sex with a student. Beth Ann Chester is a former health and gym teacher at Moon Area High School up until the sex with a student became known to the authorities. Chester's victim was a 14-year-old boy and even after authorities became aware of the allegations, Chester continued to send the student explicit text messages, as reported by the Times of the Internet.

It seems that more women are being called out and convicted for crimes such as these. Over the past few years, there have been many women teachers who have been accused or convicted of having sexual relationships with their students.

According to Hot for Teachers, there has been numerous sexual encounters made by a teacher towards a student. Beth Ann Chester was only one of many women teachers who had made passes at a student or offered bribery for sexual favors. Amongst the teachers listed at Hot for Teachers there is Carrie McCandless who contacted her victim only a day after being released from jail on bond.

Another teacher that is listed at Hot for Teachers is Kelsey Peterson who back in November of 2007 was charged for kidnapping a boy and taking him across the borders to Mexico. The kid in Peterson's case had admitted to having sex with her on multiple occasions.

Teachers like Beth Ann Chester who have sex with students is no longer unheard of but there has also been cases where teachers have been suspended or fired for doing things such as showing themselves in the public for wearing a bikini.

Both teachers Marie Jarry and Tiffany Shepherd both made the headlines as the two teachers who were fired for wearing bikinis in public. Although I personally feel that wearing a bikini should be up to the teachers, it was the circumstances in which they did it that caught my eye.

Teachers like these have me and many other asking, what is wrong with these teachers.
