Beth Carson: Friend of Jon & Kate Gosselin

Beth Is a Great Example of What it Means to Be a Friend

Donna H. Davey

The friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you. - Elbert Hubbard

What would come to mind if one were to design the ideal friend?

I think Beth Carson - friend of Kate Gosselin - would fit the mold. Beth Carson appears periodically in episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8; she is always the supportive friend and one person that people want to know more about. Is it her beauty that inspires such interest or her wealth?

I would wager that it's a combination of many things with the most apparent reason being that many women desire to have at least one true friend. Beth Carson appears to be a genuine friend and she is exceedingly generous to the Gosselin family.

I don't know anyone, other than a grandparent, who would volunteer and enjoy caring for my three children while I went on vacation.

I also don't know anyone that would be willing to leave their own family to join mine on a winter trip only to spend most of that time as the designated babysitter.

The fact that Beth Carson is selfless as a friend inspires both jealousy and admiration; jealousy because I've read a number of angry people comment to that effect, without ever admitting it.

I'll confess that I'm jealous, and be that as it may, I'm not resentful. I don't fault Kate Gosselin for having a support system that I don't. I'm not aggrieved that she has been blessed with a friend who is more like family than an outsider. I'm happy for her because that kind of friendship doesn't happen for everyone and as rare as true friendship is, I would never begrudge anyone a little bit of happiness.

Viewers know what Jon and Kate Gosselin get from their friendship with Beth, but what does Beth get in return? She hasn't really said, so one can only speculate. I doubt the friendship is one-sided because in any relationship, one can't give and give without receiving something in return. There has to be some semblance of balance and while it's true that one might give more than the other, acknowledgment and appreciation goes a long way and I'm sure Jon and Kate do both.

I guess we all search for those rare people we can be real with and trust. Kate Gosselin may be attacked on a regular basis but Beth Carson must see something deeper and more meaningful to remain a devoted friend. Or perhaps she's just one of those exceptional people that extend their friendship unconditionally, which would be an even greater reflection on her and something many of us could aspire to in our own relationships.

For the friendship of two, the patience of one is required.

I think the last part of the video says how Kate has always been and will always be....(Jon just says he is feeling sick) Kate LAUGHS and says she wants to go shopping and get "more STUFF". People don't change!! Also...want to see what Kate's REAL teeth look like? Look here before she spent her children's money on all her false teeth.

Kate and Jon, each love their children very much. They are fare parents, but neither of them had much education or time to learn some of the fine points of child parenting. Love does go a long way but, they are too busy trying to outshine one another. The children will be confused and all of us bystanders see only their errors and stress. Jon is by nature more easygoing and the children see it as great. UPTIGHT Kate could try to ease up, but as the daughter of a minister, who probably was always told how to look, act and respond. It must be very hard. Kate had a perfectionist childhood and a "do better" adolescence. She can not help reminding herself constantly that she has EIGHT CHILDREN to "DO IT FOR" Jon grew up in a mature female family, that thought he could do no wrong. Is it a wonder they fell in love. Is it a bigger wonder that it couldn't last. They are all nice people. I hope they will both get back to their families and not have so much baggage. It can all be mended. Big hurt

I'm not too sure why I became so fascinated with J & j,perhaps those cute children. I was especially atracted to the boys, as my own boys were only a year apart. I still pick the boys out to watch. The cutest moment to me was after Kate had tryed to find out who had removed knobs from the girls room. As she turned her back one boy did a cute fiesty dance. It was so-o real, and prescious.

I am angry with Jon for his irrational and selfish removal of his children from TV. Jon's acted childishly with his many lies and with his lifestyle regarding women.

Kate is a wonderful mother that unfortunately married a man that was a good father but was intellectually beneath her. I understood her belittling commentary as a result of many of his childish actions. Her lack of respect for Jon was very obvious.

oh please. He was treated like a dog by Kate. Words cut and there is never any excuse for abuse like that. He lashed out in the only way he knew how.

I can't agree with you more. The lack of respect on Kates part towards Jon was appalling. Not sure his life wouldn't have been worse had he tried to stand up for himself. I think he stood up in the only way he knew how.

At times when I watched the show%2C I would cringe because of how Kate treats Jon. Not saying that her behavior is correct but he allowed her behavior. Don%27t know what happened behind closed doors but he never stood up for himself. Yes%2C Kate needs to ease up on Jon a bit and allow him to be the father and husband and stop treating him at times like he is the 9th child. It didn%27t appear that their partnership was 50-50. They both need to stop talking to the media and tried to take care of this separation%2Fdivorce like mature%2C responsible adults and remember that their children are watching.

GREED!!!!!!!!!That's what happened with this family. In the begining it was awsome to watch such a huge family. The main focus when they started was about the kids and how the were being raised. Now the show has turned the table and startef filming more about Jon and Kate. Sure people make mistakes but nothing is ever too large that it cant be repaired. I think that if both of them sat down and refelcted back to the begining the will see the mistakes that were made and hopefully correct what needs to be corrected. As they bot say " The children are thier #1 priorty" Having split parents is not in thier best interest.

Jon is an a**hole; I used to feel sorry for him but not any more; I won't be watching any episodes he is in making money to waste on his slutty g/fs on the backs of his children. He has humiliated all of his family.
