Bette Davis Makeup Application

Faye Morgan
Bette Davis is one of the most iconic women of Hollywood. I have loved her look since the first time I ever saw her. In this application guide you will learn step by step how to get her makeup. She had a very beautiful and rather seductive makeup application that made her stunning. Follow these instructions to achieve it for yourself.

You will need:

Moisturizer

Concealer

Crème Foundation

Basic Brown Brow Pencil

Dark Grayish Brown Powder Eye Shadow

Black Mascara

Light Flesh Toned Lip Pencil

Light Brownish Gold Lip Gloss

Soft Pink Powder Blush

After you have gathered all of your makeup and other supplies, lay them out in front of you and get started. We are beginning with moisturizer and moving along from there. Pay special attention to the lip application as it can be a bit tricky. You will need to blend concealer on your lip line to hide it and draw in a new lip line, but if you follow these instructions you will do just fine.

Prepare your skin with moisturizer and let dry.

Apply concealer to the under eye area and blend it in. Next dab foundation onto the center of your face and blend it outward.

Create a strong slightly curved horizontal brow shape using a basic brown colored brow pencil.
Using a small shadow brush define the crease of your eye lid with a dark grayish brown powder eye shadow. Next define your under eye with the same powder. Apply the shadow lightly to the outer half of the eyelid from the crease of your eye to the lashes. Blend this outward onto the brow bone a bit and around the corner and under eye.

Curl your eye lashes and apply three to five coats of black mascara letting each dry between coats.

Next, apply concealer to your natural lip line and blend to hide it, and then add a bit of powder to intensify the effect. Now draw on your lips with a light flesh colored lip pencil starting with the top lip. You want a soft arching effect with full but sharply angled lines down to the corners. The bottom lip is drawn a little outside the natural line to create a full and pouty lip line. Fill in your lips with the pencil and add one light coat of gloss.

Finnish the face by dusting on a soft pink blush to your cheeks temples and chin.
