Better Know a Presidential Administration: Fred Thompson

It is time for Installment 7 of Better Know a Presidential Administration: Fred Thompson style. Prepare yourself for an exciting analysis of his possible presidential administration where he surrounds himself with extremely powerful and strong people as to avoid doing any actual work, while claiming to be the reincarnated evil spirit of Ronald Reagan.

President: Fred Thompson: For some reason, Thompson hasn't even announced his candidacy yet and his campaign is already falling apart. He is missing all sorts of important straw polls which Mike Huckabee is using to get noticed. The only way Thompson can win now is if Guliani collapses and Gingrich decides not to run. Since Michael Bloomberg announced he wasn't going to run last week, neither party has to worry about a serious third party candidate. It should be known that he will probably stock his cabinet with members of the Trilateral Commission, CFR, and the Project for a New American Century members.

Vice President:

Newt Gingrich: Gingrich is a power-player in the Republican World and is currently rumored to be running for president if no one he likes steps up. He likes Thompson, and would make this an incredibly strong ticket, especially if Clinton is the Democrat choice.

Mike Huckabee: As I stated above, with the downfall of the Mccain machine and Tommy Thompson dropping out, Huckabee's star power is rising. He is the Republican Bill Clinton, with the charisma and honesty to match it.

Other choices: Any of the current candidates running, Chuck Hagel

Secretary of State:

Zalmay Mamozy Khalilzad: I listed him under Guliani, and I'm contiuing to list him under every Republican candidate except Ron Paul. He is a Neo-Con with a lot of middle eastern experience and that is an important attribute for our future secretary of states.

Secretary of Defense:

Tommy Franks: I only list Franks because of his status in the Iraq situation. General Abizaid or Pace or Petreus would do well too. The next Secretary of Defense needs to be involved in the Iraq war currently, at least from the Republican side.

Jim Webb: Given both of their positions as movie stars, and Webb's genuine history in the military world, Webb would be a good person to make Secretary of Defense in order to cross party lines.

John Mccain: Same reason as above, minus the party lines thing. Thompson needs a strong cabinet and

UN Ambassador:

John Bolton: Thompson re-appointing Bolton to a post that he doesn't believe should exist would not surprise me. Both of these men are complete assholes and show no respect for anyone. Fit for politics if you ask me.

Attorney General:

Fred Fielding: It would be hilarious if this man who has escaped so many scandals he has directly been a part of would be nominated as the attorney general.

Secretary of Treasury:

Mitt Romney: He has been a successful businessman most of his life, and he is immensely popular now as a presidential candidate. He could run the treasury well for his party and start his eventually presidential run in 2012 or 2016 from here, plus Thompson needs people with experience to run the country for him.

Homeland Security:

Spencer Abraham: Abraham is the Campaign manager for Thompson and he has served as the Secretary of Energy under Bush as well as serving in the Senate for 10 years. To think that you wouldn't reward people who manage your campaign, especially

Secretary of Veterans Affairs

John Warner: He is a World War 2/Korean war vet who served as Secretary of the Navy 35 years ago and has served as a Senator in Virginia for te proceeding 28 years. He is planning on retiring soon, and given his moderate stances, his willingness to work with the other side, and his opposition to torture, I see him in this position.

Secretary of Labor:

Mike Huckabee: Huckabee is a good person for any cabinet level position because of his charisma and honesty. While I see him as a LIKELY Vice Presidential candidate, he would more than likely start off as a low level cabinet position in an administration and eventually move up to one of the more important positions.

White House Press Secretary:

Terry Nelson: Terry Nelson is a protégé of Karl Rove, and it is possible if not probable that he will end up in the White House in some non cabinet level position. As I keep saying, Thompson is going to staff the White House with people who could be president themselves or are major campaign strategists. He needs the help since he is so lazy and won't be able to run anything himself.

National Security Advisor:

Frances Townsend: She is the current advisor on Homeland Security to Bush, so it would be a move up for her and given that there are enough higher ups in the Senate who don't like Fred Thompson, she is one of the people who is qualified and since she works for Bush already, she's already proven she has no morals.

Secretary of Commerce -

Josh Bolten: When I talk about a lack of morals, Josh Bolten proved he had none when he made a speech about people not willing to stay until the end of the current Bush administration leaving, followed by Tony Snow, Gonzalez, and Rove resigning. Bolten seems like a highly corrupt fellow and at the rate he is going, he will be Bush's vice president any time now.
Secretary of Health and Human Services -

Bill Frist: See Secretary of Energy, Defense, Labor, Veterans Affairs or Treasury for reasons why he would appoint someone so large and in charge to this position
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development -

Michael Toner: He is the former head of the FCC, he's a republican lawyer, and served as Chief Council to the RNC during the Bush campaign. He is supporting Thompson and should be in the cabinet.

Secretary of Transportation -

John Magaw: He is a higher up at the Department of Transportation currently. Given that I have no reasons to put anyone else here, and he is qualified for the job, he belongs in this position.

Secretary of Energy -
George Allen:or Rick Santorum: Thompson will appoint one of these ex-senator rumored presidential nominee lobbyists into this job because Washington will listen to either of them and he doesn't want to do any work.

Secretary of Education - -

Tom Collamore: Thompson friend and advisor

Secretary of Interior -

Duncan Hunter: This position is almost always filled with someone from a western state, and seeing as Hunter has portrayed himself in the current cycle as the war-hawk strong on protecting the Homeland, I see this as a completely valid choice.
