President: Hillary Clinton
Aside from the obvious choice of Barack Obama based off his status as #2, Hillary has a few people she could put up as her running mate for different reasons
Choice 1: Tom Vilsack. Vilsack can win his home state which might have gone to Obama or Edwards otherwise and he dropped out of the campaign specifically to support her. This is the most logically sound choice
Choice 2: I'm listing two choices here, both for the same reasons. In order for a candidate like Hillary Clinton to win, she might need a candidate who is from the South or at least appeals to the South. She would have to go for Mark Pryor (Arkansas) or Jim Webb (Virginia.) Webb is probably the better choice as he has a military background, and decades of experience in the political world. Pryor is new to national politics and probably wouldn't make that much of a splash for the south.
Secretary of State
Bill Richardson: Much like some of the other candidates, Richardson is a man that has a long friendship with the Clinton family and everyone knows that the Clintons have an extremely long memory when it comes to loyalty. Richardson is the go-to guy when someone needs diplomacy in hostile lands, and he always leaves with the situation better than when he came. He has experience, he's a good manager, and he's a relatively decent guy. His Deputy Secretary of State will be Evelyn Lieberman, who has run with Hillary since her days as the first lady.
Secretary of Defense:
Wesley Clark: Another case of a Clinton friend getting a high level cabinet post. Of course, Clark is a Vietnam vet who was involved in the war in Bosnia and then became the NATO Supreme Commander. He is qualified, and he is a Clinton friend, so it would come as quite a shock to most of the world if he wasn't picked.
UN Ambassador:
Bill Clinton: I don't even need to explain this. She's already said she would appoint him to this position. He has been rumored to be head of the UN, and the French have asked him to run for president because of a silly loophole not removed from France's days as a colonial power.
Attorney General:
Choice 1: James Blanchard: He was in the House of Representatives from 75-83, Governor of Michigan from 83-91, and Ambassador to Canada under Clinton. He is a lawyer at a law firm in Washington DC and a friend of the Clintons. His appointment is a feasible option, and I had Joe Biden listed here as a possible option until he said he didn't want to work for Clinton last week.
Choice 2: Andrew Cuomo: Once again, a qualified Clinton friend. He served under Bill as Sec HUD and then moved on to serve Hillary as the current NY Attorney General. Regardless of which one of these two guys becomes the AG, expect the other one to be a bigwig in the department of Justice as well as Clinton supporters Bill Shaheen and Kim Gandy.
Secretary of Labor:
Robert Reich: He is supporting Hillary, and was the Secretary of Labor under Hillary. He will get this position or some other low level cabinet position.
Secretary of The Interior
Evan Bayh: This is one of those things where Evan Bayh is a rising member of the Democratic Party and he has an interest in running for president some day so he will need to be appointed to a cabinet level position to get some experience with White House Politics. Bill Clinton wants him to be president some day, so it only makes sense to put the Senator in a position here.
Secretary of Homeland Security:
Martin O'Malley: He is rumored to be the next Secretary of Homeland Security regardless of who wins the election because of his record on security in Maryland.
Secretary of Treasury
Steve Ratner: He is one of her current fundraisers and has a lot of connections in the financial world, which makes him a lobbyist magnet, as every Secretary of the Treasury in he past 10 years has been
John Mack: Current CEO of Morgan Stanley, Hillary supporter. This sounds like what Bush does when he finds people to appoint.
Secretary of Veterans Affairs
Louis Caldera: He was Secretary of the Army under Clinton and is the only current one of the military secretaries to support Hillary Clinton
White House Press Secretary:
James Carville: Carville is the most famous strategist in the democratic party, and is credited for bringing Clinton to the White House and then his wife to the senate. He is a great speaker and would make for entertaining press conferences.
White House Chief of Staff:
Patti Solis Doyle: She is Clintons campaign manager, and people who manage presidential campaigns almost always end up in this spot.
National Security Advisor:
Tom Pickering: He has served in big Ambassadorships to India, the UN, and Israel, which brought him in touch with some dangerous areas and he has probably learned a lot about foreign policy this way.
Choice 2: She could cross party lines and keep Condi on board, but I highly doubt it.
Secretary of Commerce
Vernon Jordan Jr: He is friends with Bill Clinton, served on the Iraq study group, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Bilderberg and he is a higher up in American Express. He is going to get a low level cabinet position.
Secretary of Health and Human Services -,
Ed Rendell
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
Aida Alverez: Director of the Small Business administration, spokesperson for the Kerry campaign, Clinton supporter. She has had a lot of experience dealing with urban sprawl, having served as the director of Federal Housing oversight under Clinton
Secretary of Transportation
Bill Shaheen: Clinton friend, supporter
Secretary of Energy
Terry Mcauliffe: Head of the DNC for the past 5 years, he has been a part of every Democratic presidential campaign of the past 20 years, and its highly likely he will be in a cabinet position at the end of this one.
Secretary of Education Debra Delee: Ex-chair person of the DNC, a position in Clintons cabinet could help her out, and would probably get herself put in the National Security Council due to her experience with Israel.
