The door had a sign next to it that said something along the lines of: "We have a better selection than Netflix". I scoffed when I read it. Once you walk inside, it seems a little cramped, but that's because you're at the counter where they store all the actual movies. It's a little dark and close, but once you walk past the counter it's a whole different experience. The store is actually quite large. It's well lit and clean, they offer suggestions and different ways of organizing movies. Want to find a movie but can't remember the name, only the director? No problem. They have a section where the movies are organized be director. When I was there last, they had a display of movies that had been filmed in Austin, among which I was surprised to find Office Space and Mortal Kombat . The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and I was in heaven.
I spent maybe an hour wandering around, looking at all the movies I could potentially watch. They don't have all movies, of course, but they do have a lot. And, I will admit, that they do have a better selection than Netflix. They even have Night Court. I'm always up for a good foreign film, whether it be a famous one like Run Lola Run or a rather bizarre one like Battle Royale. Their foreign film section alone is enough to keep me occupied for months.
