Why You Need Humor

Is it just a human habit or some form of a modern-day trend that people nowadays love to talk about the saddest stories of their lives than those that are full of bliss? There are far too many people who are living a stressful life. Everywhere you go, you can encounter someone who does nothing but talk about how miserable his or her life is. Reality is already tough as it is and people who do negative talks make life on this planet simply tougher. If an entity from another planet would visit us here, they might scratch their heads in confusion on hearing too many bitter endings that will exceed all the films of drama and tragedy in this world.

We all know for a fact that life is short and full of uncertainties. You can either live the rest of this lifetime worrying about the what if's and what must's, or you may just go with the flow and laugh. Life should be a fun experience, instead of being a puddle of pain and suffering for you to wallow in. Saying Ha Ha is better than ranting a million Blah's. When Sam Butler said that our main task in life is to enjoy it, he could never have been wrong.

Do you really need humor to live a better, more fulfilled life? The answer is a resounding YES. In fact, many studies have found out that laughter just releases all those feel-good chemicals in the brain that make you feel happy. For this, many have been using laughter therapy to have better health. Laughter lowers your blood pressure, making you feel more relaxed. Without stress, your body is in harmony. Laughter pumps oxygen to our blood, giving you endorphins that helps you achieve an ultimate well-being. When you are in this state, you just can keep things in clearer perspective, making you live your life to the max, the way you want it to be lived.

No matter how unorthodox it may sound, there are funner ways to live the bitter sweet realities of life, without the drama. Here are ways on how you can live life easier:

  1. Make a strict commitment of living your life with FUN!
  2. Don't make silly excuses as to why you can't enjoy life.
  3. Laugh your way through life. If laughter is not a natural talent you possess, find ways to laugh by watching funny flicks, reading humor book, or attending laughter therapy sessions. Remember that a sense of humor is something learned, not inborn.
  4. Slow down and take simple pleasures out of your life.
  5. Give time for yourself and make it a priority.
  6. Get a dose of laughter each day and share them with others.
  7. Relax and find time to be grateful for all the wonderful things and persons making up your so-called life.
Happiness can be inspired from within, manifesting into the world outside yourself, and spreading to those people you love. Not everything can be solved by laughter, but having a happy heart and mind can make things lighter than what meets the eye. Having a positive attitude in life just gives you an edge over the rest.

Be Grateful for the Gift of Laughter!
