Betty Malone, what did she mean to me? When I first entered AC "Writestuff" (Betty Malone) and I were like night and day for the first six months. I would post an article, Betty would debate it, I would debate her, she would debate me a second time until we both would agree to disagree then laugh about it. What could have turned ugly turned out to be a friendship during the many months that followed.

During my separation Betty assisted in the obstacles I was facing. "It sounds like you finally realized how special Lori is! And that you don't need anyone as long as you have you! You're right, focus on the kids, they'll grow up so fast and be gone, Enjoy these years with them. Don't worry, God always provides a door and a way for those willing to work hard and be true. I'll understand and cheer you on!" - Betty Malone.

On November 12, 2009 Betty wrote What I Learned from Associated Content Content Producers. Betty had me in tears, for all the right reasons. Betty gave from the heart.

And Betty had a sense of humor. Who would have thought that when you turn to Google Trends one of the words were sexsexsexsexsexsex etc.. So I wrote an article about it. Betty laughed. When I did an article on eHow.com's ridiculous how to's, Betty said "yet again, that's Lori!" Betty even wrote an article called What I Learned About Humor and Other Important Stuff from Associated Content Producers. I smile in return. She was fun, she was real, she was honest to the bone when she felt the need.

On November 15, 2009 we became Examiner buddies. Visit Betty's Indianapolis Homeschooling Examiner page, let the views flow in on record levels.

Betty's last AC article was posted on November 17, 2009 called Visiting Edinburgh, Scotland, a World Class Heritage City. As always Betty knew exactly how to put the visual out there by word alone with the description of the Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh hotels and everything Edinburgh has to offer. It's articles such as this that helps create better writers.

So, when I traveled to Facebook this evening I found a shocking revelation thanks to Lyn, very much. Betty passed away of a sudden illness. You can read this through Betty's Obituary. There you will find an open view into Betty's life outside of her writing skills as she occasionally would allow the world a sneak peek through her past articles.

Being a single mother of two sons I often rely on page views to supply basic needs, but today it's not about me, it's all about Betty. Visit Betty's articles through the links above and below. Learn from her works, she has so much to offer others in spirit, even after her passing. Let's make her an AC millionaire, she deserves it. Let's break an Examiner record in Betty's name!

As I mentioned to Betty time and time again, "you will always be the Writestuff for me." Rest in peace Betty Malone, your words will travel, my eternal gift to you.

    "Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay."

This always makes me think of Mrs. Malone. I was blessed enough to know her in real life, as she was my drama teacher. She always hit me as a very honest and pure soul, and I cried a lot when she died. However, she was such a sweet and positive person that she would not want us to mourn. She would want us to push forward in life, so let us be happy, and honor her memory.

We miss you Betty! And Lori, the type of person Betty seemed to be, I bet she'd be thrilled to pieces if you could supply your kids with a few nickels worth of stuff from this lovely tribute to her! I will be visiting Betty's articles on AC to see if we can really do the millionaire thing - she would be grateful, I think :)

Nice piece. You should know however that you could get her Examiner page a million page views and it wouldn't make a difference. They changed their rules and now will only pay if an Examiner is actively posting for 30 days prior. Sorry and congrats on a lovely piece.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen any new articles from Betty for a while, which was very unusual. Then I happened to go to her FaceBook page and I am so totally shocked to have found this sad news! I even noticed a comment from Betty on FB that she was beginning to feel better...this is someone who inspired my writing more than any other. She was a true mentor and although I only knew her for a short while on AC, I know she will be missed so much. She did so much to help others with her nominations. Too too sad...

Lori, thank you for this lovely article in memory of AC contributor, Betty Malone. This is a very unfortunate loss, yet continuing to read the articles she left here is a wonderful idea!
