Betty White is Hot, Hot, Hot in Cleveland

Show Business Sensation Betty White is Still Making Us Laugh!

Deb Martin-Webster
From the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Golden Girls to Saturday Night Live veteran actor Betty White remains one of Hollywood's feistiest actors in the business. Her butter wouldn't melt in her mouth smile has been known to spew out insults that would make a sailor blush.

In my opinion, Betty White is the quintessential comic performer. Whether it's going toe-to-toe with a giant crocodile in Lake Placid or relentlessly stalking Ted Baxter as Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Betty can charm the pants off all of her co-stars.

Best known as Rose Nylund, St Olaf, Minnesota's prodigal daughter in the hit show "Golden Girls" her naïve charm and personality was the butt of many a joke by her fellow co-stars, Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, and the legendary Estelle Getty. All had the opportunity to poke fun at Rose's input on subjects that were usually over her head.

Born Betty Marion White her acting career has spanned decades. Until his death Betty was married for 18 years to game show host Allen Ludden. He was well-known for hosting various incarnations of the game show "Password" between 1961 and 1980. Betty continues to keep us in stitches with her brilliant sense of humor. She is recognized for her affiliation with animal charities such as "Actors and Others for Animals" and the Morris Animal Foundation.

Her new show "Hot in Cleveland" revolves around three fabulous L.A. women of a certain age who are best friends (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick). Their lives are changed forever when their plane -- headed to Paris for a girls-only celebration -- unexpectedly lands in Cleveland and they soon rediscover themselves in a new 'promised land'. Loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker (Betty White) of the property they have rented. Betty White can certainly hold her own with amongst these three fine actresses.

What ever she does whether it's television or movies Betty White is the real deal when it comes to making us laugh. On July 18, 2008, she appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in a skit entitled "Can You Make Betty White Flinch". White guest starred as the "Witch Lady" on an episode of" My Name is Earl"; both performances still leave me laughing out loud. A great comic performer and an American comedy icon, she continues to be a hot commodity in the show business industry. At the seasoned age of 88 the incomparable Betty White can hold her own in the world of entertainment.
