The CW is producing a contemporary remake of the popular hit series of the 90's Beverly Hills 90210 which was created and produced by Aaron Spelling. As the show began in 1990, viewers were introduced to Minnesota native twins, Brenda (Shannon Doherty) and Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestly) who had moved with their parents to the Beverly Hills area. At their high school, West Beverly High, Brenda and Brandon made friends with a group of guys and girls which included Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth), Donna Martin(Tori Spelling), Dylan McKay (Luke Perry), Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering), David Silver (Brian Austin Green), and Andrea Zuckerman (Gabrielle Carteris.) This group became a tight clique looking out for one another, going on adventures together, and just growing up. For the next ten years, fans could follow the gang through high school graduation, college, and adult hood. The show ended in 2000.

The remake, which will be called 90210, is a contemporary version of the old show. It features a hot young cast of rising stars. The premise of 90210 is of course very similar to the original series as it features a brother and sister moving to the area and attending West Beverly High School very similar to Brenda and Brandon.

Some of the cast from the original series will be making appearances in the new series. Kelly Taylor is back as a guidance counselor at the High School while Donna Martin owns a trendy boutique and Brenda Walsh returns to West Bev High as a theater director. Nat, who owned the Peach Pit, will also be back and still owns the Peach Pitt. Brenda returning will be interesting as she reportedly was written out of the original show because of off screen friction with co-star Jennie Garth in 1994.

90210 will air on the CW Channel on Tuesdays this fall with the premiere episode airing on September 2nd.
